I bought these because after 4 years of grooming my dog every 8 weeks the groomer told me they would charge me $100+ to shave him because he was matted. I knew he was not matted as I brushed him the same as always. So I hopped on Amazon and bought these for a great deal. I figured even if they got me through one cut it was cheaper than a grooming. Best purchase I've made this year! I charged them right away and they went through his freshly washed and brushed hair like butter. I groomed him four times on the same charge. There is definitely a learning curve to doing your own grooming but my puppers doesn't care and I'm usually the only one that notices. None of the components heat up. The small clippers are great for paws. The nail file works but I'm not great with it. The scissors included are not the best so I use a pair I bought years ago for trimming his face and ears. *My one warning: I banged the hair out after the first use and they would work due to a misalignment. I recently purchased the Dog Clippers and Dog Paw Trimmer Kit 2 in 1 Professional Dog Grooming Kit, and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with the nail shaver component. The clippers worked reasonably well for trimming my dog's fur, and I appreciated the low noise and cordless design, making it less stressful for my pet. However, the nail shaver broke after just one use, which was a significant letdown. It left me with no choice but to look for an alternative tool to trim my dog's nails. It was a pleasure to yse my new clippers to trim my toy poodles hair. Usually it is so difficult that I have to use scissors but, with my new clippers, it's much easier. The clippers cost much less than the price of sending the dog to the groomer even once.
