πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Reviewers are generally impressed with the strength and cost-effectiveness of this snowplow, praising its easy attachment and removal, as well as its ability to handle substantial snowfall. However, there are numerous complaints about the vague and misleading instructions, with many noting that assembly was overly complicated as a result. Users also spoke about the sturdiness of the hitch, which some felt should be more robust, and a few others pointed out that the blade blocked the headlights when raised, making night operation difficult.

Pros

  • πŸ’ͺ Seems robust and efficiently built
  • πŸ’Έ Price is considered reasonable for the quality
  • πŸ‘ Easy to attach and remove from truck
  • ❄ Handles substantial snowfall well
  • 🚚 Reasonable delivery process

Cons

  • πŸ“„ Instructions are confusing and unhelpful
  • πŸ›  Assembly can be challenging
  • πŸͺ£ Hitch could be more sturdy
  • πŸ”† Blade can block headlights when raised
  • βš™ Some components may need regular tightening or risk falling off

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a snowplow that's efficient, easy to operate, and great value for money, this could be a top contender. While the assembly process and instructions are not perfect, taking into account the product's performance and price point, it seems like a solid purchase. Those who are not DIY inclined or who require nighttime plowing should consider alternative models.

  • Great for the price
Bought back in 2022. First had on my Jeep with the hitch mount. Worked great. I found you can’t be as hard on it as a bigger plow. Broke the part that went into the hitch. Called and they sent me one immediately for free. Very impressed with the customer service. The next year I bought a new truck and bought the actual plow mount for the truck, so I don’t have to use the hitch mount. I would recommend buying the actual mounts. Easy to install and priced nicely. Still have the hitch on the jeep so if I need to use that I still can. Highly recommend this plow. I live in Northern Minnesota and we get a lot of snow. Besides the one problem this has worked awesome. ... show more

  • It works! Easy to assemble and install. Easy to remove and re-attach to truck.
I had my doubts. I knew this is a lightweight home use type of product. Assembly took me about 1 hour in our shop having all tools handy. Some may allow a bit more time. Pros: Great price. Easy to install. Easy to use. Easy to attach and remove from truck. Attached pulley wheels to move the plow around when not attached to truck are a great idea. Should last for responsible light use. Now, I didn't let my staff use it yet as I use it "wisely". In other words I feel, that if someone just speeds into snow back or ice, I am not sure if structure won't bend or break. But, we have a fairly large yard at our company and it worked well. Did pull backs (dragging snow in reverse) well. Pushed it into piles with some force and rumbled over some ice chunks. The plow did what it should and the springs had the right strength to allow it to give way at the right force. Like it. Would buy again. Cons: Well, seems like a very light design and doesn't look very stiff. BUT...it works. It has the Made in China feel. I do have to admit the welds seem well done for a China Product. The powder coat is worth less. I mean, it started rusting the moment it set in the rain unused. I didn't expect more from a Made in China budget price product in terms of powder coating. So I expect this to be a junk of rusty metal after 1 or 2 seasons. But that won't have an effect on function in the sort term. I do expect rust to be its demise after a few seasons. (Weakened parts from rust through ect.). ... show more

  • Product good....instructions miserable. UPDATED after first 3 Snows.
This is a large item, so it has to be delivered by a shipping company with a lift gate. No sweat. The guys dropped it right in my driveway and I went to work. Don't be concerned that the box is too small for an 82-84 inch plow blade; it is shipped in two halves that bolt together nicely. First impression was that this plow is very well built and heavy. All the nuts and bolts are loosely installed where they go, which is nice. No huge plastic bag of nuts and bolts to sort through. Problem: The instructions manual dropped the ball completely in three major areas. First, I put everything together, following the instructions step-by-step. When finished I discovered a big safety "pin" that was installed at the factory that would not come out unless I took it all apart again. Aggravating. Nothing was mentioned anywhere in the manual regarding this. Second, once I had the plow put together, the instructions stopped, but I had a bunch of pieces left over in my driveway and no clue how to mount this to my truck. I guess I'll just have to wing that. Third, the instructions for the electrical connections on the winch are laughable, to say the least. Clearly, they were written in some foreign language, and then translated into English by some 9 year old with no knowledge of electricity or wiring. Here is a direct quote from the wiring documentation that came in the small box the winch came in: "1. When wiring is enabled, please connect the remote control's positive power cord to the rear of the vehicle's electric door lock to improve the life of the remote control." Next sentence, "2. When using an external remote control, if the electric control box socket is three-core , remote control receiver need to increase the external negative line. if the electric control box socket is four-core, insert the pour-pin plug of the remote control receiver directly into the winch case." Punctuation and/or spelling errors included for clarity. First, the remote control has no wires, so not sure how you would hook that up to your door locks. Really?? The door locks?? Second, the wireless control unit, which is installed in the engine compartment, seems to have a wire hanging out of it. Does that go to the door locks?? Or does it go to a ground to "increase the external negative line"?? I found separate instructions in the main instruction manual that made it clear that this wire goes directly to the negative terminal on your battery, but I suspect some people would just hook this thing up to a positive 12V "door lock" circuit, as instructed, and fry their wireless control unit. Third, THERE ARE TWO SETS OF INSTRUCTIONS AND THEY DON'T JIVE WITH EACH OTHER!! This is electrical wiring. It must be correct. Were it not for the seriously-lacking instructions, I would rate this plow much higher. It is early December here in central Washington, and we've yet to receive any snow, so I can't comment on how well this works for me. When it snows, I'll update this. Update: Well, it's snowed three times here in Central Washington and I've plowed. The first two plowings were great; no issues. However, on the third plowing the mounting hardware just in front of the trailer hitch bent to the side. The "blade stiffener brackets" (as they are called in the owners manual) bent horribly as well. Serious flaw in the construction. The metal tubing designed to "plug in" to the receiver on the trailer hitch should have been constructed of solid bar, not metal tubing. The stiffener brackets are not enough and too-lightly constructed to prevent the blade mount from bending sideways. I've contacted the manufacturer to make a warranty claim, and will update once I have it. See photo More update: Good news... The manufacturer was immediately responsive to my warranty claim and they sent me all-new parts to bring my plow back into service. I'm a very happy customer. I've changed my original 4-star rating to a 5-star rating because of the customer service and the quick replacement of damaged parts. ... show more

  • Supplier leaves buyer to live with faults
The unit can be assembled and installed by one person. It can be used on light snowfalls. The unit does not have a working remote control or a long enough cord for the wired control. This makes adjustments to the plow in motion impossible with variations in the road. Also with a front hitch the loose fit to the plow has a tendency to have it flop around. The company has failed to provide corrections to the problems. ... show more

  • IMO very good plow for the money for sure.
Works very well the seller made it right with the caster wheels getting lost during shipping. Mine didn't have assembly instructions but they may have got lost with the wheels. Plow functions well easy to use and install, remove and roll away between uses. Over all happy with it. My Silverado hitch is low so I did modify the 2inch receiver assembly to raise the plow hinge section higher off the ground! ... show more

  • Low Budget Plow
Let's start by letting everyone know that this is a low priced, consumer oriented snowplow, not for commercial use. First off it's huge! It sticks out from my front bumper about 6 feet! This severly limits manueverability during tight turns in a parking lot or in your driveway, so be sure to plan your path before committing! More expensive plows sit in tighter to the bumper, all the ones I have seen in my area do. Also, the hitch portion that goes into the receiver should be solid, not the thin low grade square tubing provided. The 2 stabilizers should help keep it square to the hitch, so that adds a little comfort. I'm going to add some extra lighting for night plowing expeditions, because when locked up in the driving position the blade blocks the headlights on my 2008 Super Duty. Lastly the instructions need more photos, and better descriptions, thank goodness for YouTube! So don't expect ease of use, ease of installation, and compact manueverable construction. All of that can be had if you purchase a higher priced commercial rated plow. ... show more
