  • Plow is well built and great price. Great for home use only!
I put it on my 2006 Ford F150 Lariat. Came in wood crate took me four hours to install it myself. The wiring harness that came with the plow installed easy, good instructions I zipped tide all wiring looks like it came that way. Ran the control wire thru fender to passenger door came in under the door seal, used silicone to seal it. Went around the passenger compartment on floor tucked wires in panels. velcroid the control to the counsel looks like it was made for it, I’m impressed with it and it’s easy to use in the driver’s seat. Lifting the plow by myself I used a floor jack cut pallet boards so I could get the jack under the plow blade in the front. Installed a board 10” x2’ under the jack so I could roll it back lifted the plow up pulled the truck up to plow lined it up with the receiver pushed on the jack to slide the plow back into the receiver put pin in. filled up the hydraulics plugged the connector in and tested the movement, right, left up and down everything works perfectly. I’m a 66-year-old man and I’m impressed with the quality of the plow. Just what I needed for my 160-foot driveway! I recommend this plow for home use only! Thank You, Richard ... show more

  • GREAT plow but it can be damaged if you don't take care
I have used this plow for two winters and I am satisfied with it. This plow works great but can be damaged quite easily since it does not have the automatic release the bigger plows have when they hit something that doesn't want to move. I have only used this plow on dirt and gravel and grassy areas so far. I bought the Meyers plow shoes to keep the plow blade always off the ground and to be the first thing that the plow hits when there is a step in the ground floor or something sticking up from the ground. This has kept the plow blade from incurring any damage so far. I love the automatic plow control in the truck cabin with me. The only problem I have had is that I bent the wheels that are lowered so that the plow can be wheeled easily on the garage floor when you disconnect the plow from the truck front receiver hitch. I was going to use the plow again after a snow and I had connected the plow to the truck front receiver hitch with the wheels still down. I backed the truck and plow out of the garage about 10 feet when I realized I needed to raise the plow wheels again. It was too late, at that point in time, as the wheel support bracket on one of the wheels had already bent dramatically and even broke off a metal stop on the plow frame. I had to buy a replacement wheel and bracket and weld another stop on the plow. The plow worked fine once I removed the bent wheel bracket and then I ordered a replacement wheel to fix it later. Those wheels were just for convenience when mounting and un-mounting the plow to the truck and are not needed when plowing. With everything I know now, I would still buy this plow again though. For my usage I can't justify the much more expensive bigger plows. ... show more

  • If you have black top it might be ok
For starters they show you how easy you can just roll this unit and snap it on is far from the truth, the second issue is they make it sound like you can just leave this on and drive worry free another far fetched tale, this can be used to drive short distances on perfectly level ground with no pulling into gas stations with a up hill grade going in plow will hit very easy, the plow is fragile and one mistake and you will have an ornament to have to get rid of taking it on and off is not as easy as it shows on the video, I'm sorry I purchased this over priced POS ... show more

  • not as sturdy as full size plows.
This plow is adequate, hydraulics slower, plow not as sturdy as regular grade. Installation was a snap.

  • Does the job
The company that delivered the plow was horrible. They kept lying again and again and don't even care about customer service. Plow was easy to install.

  • Takes two people to mount
Angle of plow wrong for front mount in GMC half ton. Too steep. Shoes (separate order) need more height adjustment spacers. Had to add my own design welded threaded rods and cranks to adjust height and angle of tang to allow one person to mount. Plastic inserts to hold the plastic valve cover in place broke first time, and I replaced with 7/16 machine screws and threaded receiving holes. ... show more

  • Failed before the first use, but I was able to fix it.
This worked fine for about 10 activations, then stopped working. After some time, I figured out that a wire inside a plug to the solenoid had worked itself loose. I cut off the plugs and wired the solenoids direct. That seems to have fixed my issues. I own a commercial plow as well as this Home Plow. This will never make it through a rough season of commercial plowing, but it will work as intended, for light home use by the owner. ... show more
