Usually I am very fatigued and in bed by 7PM. I chalk this up to my iron deficiency. When I take this vitamin B pill, I am able to get so much done in the day and it adds about 2 more hours in the day for me. The first day I took the vitamin B pill, I felt energetic throughout the day and was surprised to find that around 7PM I was still up; I cleaned my kitchen and dining room before the day ended. I didn’t want myself to get accustomed to that surge of energy, so now I take the pill every other day and I don’t feel as lethargic as I once did. This is a staple for me. The pill is a decent (large) size to swallow, the smell is nauseating for me, the pill is a capsule filled with yellow powder, oh and don’t be alarmed the pill will turn your urine highlighter yellow. ... show more

I've been taking these for a couple of years and have been satisfied with the quality & price. Though they're "made" in the USA, it's unknown (and unlikely) that they're made from all USA manufactured ingredients. Because China supplies so much of the world's raw ingredients used to manufacture our drugs/vitamins, that it's probably impossible to get entirely USA sourced drugs/vitamins these days. (Hopefully that will change, as it's a huge national security issue.) [Note: The word "drugs" is used above to refer to prescription medications.] Like others have said, they do make your urine turn the same orange as the capsule contents. Bear this in mind if you have to monitor for other health issues which also affect urine coloring (eg: dehydration, liver/kidney issues). Now for the bad - the taste makes me nauseated! Until recently, I was taking them with Gatorade, which minimized the bad taste/after-taste, but due to stomach ulcers I've only been drinking water the past 3 weeks. With Gatorade, the stomach-churning taste was only noticeable when burping. Sadly, since I've been drinking only water I've not been able to stomach them. I find the taste a bit like acetone or mineral spirits (if you've ever used them for surface-prep/cleaning and inadvertently gotten any near your mouth, then you'll know what I mean), with a hint of fish oil. I don't know if the taste is from the specific methylcellulose (HPMC?) capsules, or (more likely) the taste of the contents leaching through the capsule wall. Hopefully the taste won't bother you as it does me, because I still feel these are both good quality and value. I'm going to try other brands to see if they are more palatable. ... show more

I purchased this before. Then I learned that cyanocobelamin is not great, methylcobalamin is the form used by the body best. And I always look at "other ingredients".
