Description

The Ventura Vibe Rotary/Vibrato pedal from DigiTech will twist your equilibrium adding spinning, swaying movement to your guitar playing. It delivers both vintage and modern sounds with three rotary/vibrato effect types. Each can be uniquely contoured to accentuate high frequencies and driven to distort via the Ventura Vibe's stacked Tone and Drive controls. The versatility of these controls along with independent Speed, Depth and Mix controls allow you to dial up anything from mild amplitude and frequency modulation to a full on case of vertigo. Additionally, the Ventura Vibe's foot-switchable speed function allows you to ramp between slow and fast speed on the fly! The Ventura Vibe's stellar rotary and vibrato effects are complimented by stereo 1/4 " inputs and outputs for routing flexibility, constant high voltage rails, a bicolor status LED indicator and true bypass circuitry. With its compact size, vacuum-style footswitch and striking graphics the Ventura Vibe furthers DigiTech's evolution in pedal design. We've put years of experience into every detail of its mechanical and sonic blueprint. The Ventura Vibe uses a 9V DC power supply to easily integrate into your existing pedalboard.

  • Budget Leslie plus so much more
Three different pedals in one- classic vintage, modern, and a Leslie rotating speaker emulator. I bought it mainly for the Leslie because you can hardly find these pedals for less than $300 by themselves. It sounds great- it goes from minimal rotation volume sweeps to full blown psychedelic underwater tones. I’ve played the vintage and modern and they are a lot of fun as well. This is very well worth the money, plus it supports stereo in/out for full effect. I highly recommend. Edit- I’ve been playing more on vintage and modern- this gives a decent distortion, and you can sound like Breathe by Pink Floyd on vintage, Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden on Modern, or VooDoo Chile by Hendrix on Rotary. I haven’t come close to finding all the tones on this thing. I’ll definitely be on a fun hunt over the next week. I think it might be the best money I’ve spent on a pedal! ... show more

  • Drunk box
First off, my advice would be to check this pedal in action on YouTube, and if you like what you hear (and see), then you'll want to snatch one up quick, because Digitech discontinued this. It's really strange that they don't even list it in the 'discontinued products' section of their website - maybe a copyright issue? Anyway, if you get this pedal, you'll also want to do a Google search to find and download the Users Manual which some 3rd parties are still posting - it illustrates a few 'patches' for the Ventura Vibe that you may find useful. Like every other pedal in this series, the Ventura Vibe is a very convenient size and built like a tank. It has dual inputs and outputs, so it can be used with both mono and stereo sources. It's a knob-per function box - so it's fairly easy to figure out as there is no menu diving, though there are no presets. The Ventura Vibe blankets a nice colorization onto your source - it's best used on sustained sounds like pads or organs. Sort-of makes the things sound a bit 'drunk', like the wow and flutter of an old cassette tape player. As others noted, the rotary effect is nothing to write home about. Honestly, I don't think I will be using this as much as the Nautila, which is another mod effect pedal in this product line, but the Ventura Vibe is good for adding some dreamy vertigo, if that's your cup of tea. :) ... show more

  • Husband is Happy
My husband found a YouTube video on this pedal and was intrigued. The video did state it would be hard to find this pedal since it was no longer made. When he found it on Amazon he had to have it. It came within the time specified and it was in great shape. Couldn't ask for anything more.

  • Cool pedal…
Pedal sounds good… emulates a rotary speaker pretty well… noticed a second or two delay when switching between modes, which could get kind of weird when at a gig (absolutely NO signal will be produced when that delay is going on). There also doesn’t seem to be a provision for a 9V battery in the unit, which is weird as it’s a full size pedal. But overall it seems to be a pretty decent unit. Only time will tell though, as the true test will be when it’s being used out on the road. ... show more

  • I'm going to keep it...
I'm going to keep it because I like it and want to keep exploring...but it could be improved upon. I am using it with my BC Rich Mockingbird as well as my Epiphone Dot 335 into my Crate solid state amp (can't remember the model number), so keep that in mind, but the rest of this review is opinion only. Most of the settings I dialed in on the VINTAGE setting were too dramatic to be usable--I have to crank the TONE knob to keep it from sounding muddy. I prefer the MODERN vibe sound to the VINTAGE one... it has some nice phaser-style sounds and more subtle tones. Crank the SPEED and DEPTH knobs to get a pretty cool seasick John Scofield-style tone in this setting. I like that DigiTech combined the TONE and DRIVE knobs because it keeps the layout nice and clean, but I can't get into using the sound produced by the DRIVE knob, especially in the VINTAGE setting. Inclusion of the MIX knob is genius for this pedal, and almost bumps this review up to 4 stars. VENTURA VIBE has an added feature in which you can hold the footswitch, and the LED light will turn green as the SPEED ramps up to max speed. This is supposed to emulate, presumably, the speed of a rotating Leslie speaker cone being manipulated. It's a great idea for this pedal, but poorly executed. It speeds up way faster than I want it to; I would prefer to be able to control the rate of acceleration somehow. The secret weapon of this pedal is the ROTARY setting, which I find to be highly usable and very convincing. It can give a cool Zombies "Odessey And Oracle" era vibe or give your guitar a neat liquidy kind of sound on a clean tone, especially if combined w/ a tremolo pedal. I haven't tried it on a keyboard yet but definitely have that on my list of things to do. Also haven't used it in a live setting so I can't comment on that. Try one out before buying online to see if you're really really gonna love it. I'm keeping mine though 'cause I dig. Vibe on. ... show more

  • Great pedal at a great price!
I was really undecided about which univibe style pedal to get. After listening to all of them, from MXR to JHS, and obviously the DigiTech Ventura Vibe, I decided to get the Venture Vibe for a few reasons: 1. I already have 2 other DigiTech pedals and they are both AMAZING! Built like tanks, aesthetically very pleasing, and they sound great! 2. I didn't really need the most authentic Univibe, but something a bit more versatile and still great sounding. With the 3 way switch for selecting between univibe, vibrato and rotary speaker, this pedal totally fit the bill. It's also a great extra to have the gain control. 3. Price. I don't know if it's because the pedal is discontinued, but at $99 it's the best deal out there. I really like the JHS Unicorn V2 also, but for now, it's out of my price range. Since I now know for sure that I really like "univibe" pedals, I wouldn't feel hesitant to spend money on a more expensive pedal, if I could afford to do so. Over all, the pedal looks, feels, and sounds great. It's a ton of fun and is really inspiring for my type of playing. Too bad they are out of production. My advice would ne to get one while you can, especially at these prices. ... show more
