I bought this so I could route the audio from my TV, to my PC speakers using a 3.5mm line in port on my mixer. For whatever reason no all TVs come with headphone jacks so optical was my only option. Works great and I love the form factor of this product. It just makes more sense for this application. I had a box style dac for my car and hated how clunky and cheap feeling it was. This one feels surprisingly premium and I'm really glad I took a chance on it. ... show more

I have an ancient DVD player that had only coaxial digital output for sound. I wanted to connect to an ancient sound system that had, for input, only a male 3.5 mm aux connector. This product came -- very conveniently -- with a male to male aux adapter, so I was able to use this product right out of the package. It worked perfectly.
