I use a Kitty Genie so why wouldn't this work for babies. This is the second one for another new great grand baby. The first family love theirs, the second family is excited to get to use theirs in about two weeks and I love my Cat Genie. Life is good. If there is no smell with the cat one, I am sure the same could be said for the diaper. Very easy to change the bags. Obviously it holds up because the first Genie is going on the second child. I remember reading comments from people online saying these things were a waste of money and I’m sooo glad I didn’t listen, they’re crazy! I know they have a cat genie out, but it doesn't contain the smell at all. The diaper genie has 2 "lids" so the smell is so much better contained. I know it's originally for diapers, but it works wonderful for clumping Kitty litter. Very easy for removal of litter, and start a new bag.

I was SO excited for the multi polka dot diaper genie as it gave a little pizzazz to the basic white pail. I did not get what I ordered. Although, it was just a cosmetic preference, there is nothing physically wrong with this stainless steel pail and will work just fine.
