Husband: What’s not to like about this. Easy place to trash diapers until the container fills up. Filter is good at cover any dirty diaper smell. Probably one of my favorite nursery items. Wife: This is a joke item, one of those things you buy to feel all boojee and fancy. You don’t need it. It stinks and you’d be better off just tossing the diaper in the trash. As a first time mom, when I was making my registry, I asked friends for a lot of opinions. So many people told me that this would be a waste of money and to use a regular trash can. FAST FORWARD to a few weeks after having my son and boy did I regret not having this! First of all, it helped with the smell 100%. There is no lingering poopy smell all over my house. Second, it was so easy to use and there are tons of hacks showing how to use the genie with regular trash bags. I will be purchasing this for every baby shower I go to now! Comparing to the older verion. The new version is not as sturdy. The pedal and the door are flimsy. It feels like it's going to collapse everytime I open the bottom door. I was recommended this product by a fellow dog owner and its worth every penny. As a first time dog owner, I don't have to worry about my pup's stinky poop bags and waiting garbage dog to finally come around. It also doesn't take up much space so I can put it right by the regular trash can. The only downside is trying to take out a full bag since the razer doesn't cut it off in one go, resulting in me trying to repeatedly try to cut it off. I love it has a little blade to cut the bags when you need to cut the old one and make a new bag. Just make sure you give yourself enough to tie the old one. The scent is not strong as far as to help with the diaper smell and they over power it. We ended up buying the baking soda inserts you can buy and stick on the inside. It holds a lot and it really has been a life saver in terms of our dog not getting into the trash after them. It holds up to the pet test! And it has my mom seal of approval! ... show more
