Husband: What’s not to like about this. Easy place to trash diapers until the container fills up. Filter is good at cover any dirty diaper smell. Probably one of my favorite nursery items. Wife: This is a joke item, one of those things you buy to feel all boojee and fancy. You don’t need it. It stinks and you’d be better off just tossing the diaper in the trash. It’s gonna stink regardless. This is just a bucket for all dirty diapers to sit in and rot before being ready to throw away. Disgusting product. i was skeptical about buying a diaper genie but i don’t regret it one bit! during my experience with my diaper genie, the only time the smell is noticeable is when you change it out or if you open it & it’s too full. also, the bags hold a lot of diapers so you can go a little bit without replacing the bag. i’m glad i bought this! the design is skinny & kinda tall so it fits great anywhere as it doesn’t take too much space. ... show more

Works well and keeps the odor out of babies room. You may smell a tiny bit when you quickly open and close but it goes away right after the lid closes. Totally worth the buy!

So... got this in December because of a smaller space. And wanted a better air tight solution. It still has a slight odor, once you open the top to put in the diaper, the stench is far reaching. Which should be expected. But as the bin fulls up, it starts to crack open and the sent would leak out the spaces. At one point I had resorted to putting a paper weight on top just to keep it close. The bag wasn’t even full. I’ve had mind for about 5 or 6 months. It broke at 4-5 months. But I’m determined not to make my money go to waste. The compartment that holds waste, is hard to open when the bag is full. And it was during one of theses attempts, which I thought I was getting better at, that the we bottom clips that keep it, so the door tilts, broke. It closes shut, and is surprisingly easier to get the waste out when the bag is full. But it’s still broken. With baby number two on the way, I am contemplating replacing this one in the fall, but I want to increase my use of reusable diapers as oppose to disposable ones. And the diaper genie isn’t ideal for reusable diapers. ... show more

I went back to diaper genie after I couldn’t take the bad smells coming from the ubi. It works so much better at keeping the smells at bay, even when you open the top. And the foot petal is so useful when you have to keep one hand on the baby/toddler!

As a first time mom, when I was making my registry, I asked friends for a lot of opinions. So many people told me that this would be a waste of money and to use a regular trash can. FAST FORWARD to a few weeks after having my son and boy did I regret not having this! First of all, it helped with the smell 100%. There is no lingering poopy smell all over my house. Second, it was so easy to use and there are tons of hacks showing how to use the genie with regular trash bags. I will be purchasing this for every baby shower I go to now!
