  • Cool. I like it.
Color: Yellow Size: No Size
It holds a lot of stuff. The front section with the two tool walls is pretty much maxed out at this point, as is the main compartment in the back. I use that space for my tool belt, which is pretty bulky and has to be folded up kind of tightly, as well as a few zipper pouches with some small odds and ends, a digital multimeter, a few rolls of electrical tape, two bit sets, and of course the 20V battery. It's a shame the bag doesn't include one (and a charger for the battery) but I suppose it's kind of meant for people who already own DeWalt power tools (I am not one of these people). In retrospect it would've been much cheaper and more practical to just buy, say, the regular lighted backpack and and a separate power bank (which could hold way more charge than the 2Ah batteries I ended up purchasing). Anyhow, this still works just as well for me in an age of powerbanks, since my phone battery is 3Ah but I don't really use it that much, so the backpack charging system is sort of a backup for me in case I get really low. There's a small pocket that can store a coiled up USB cable, and a larger one next to it that should fit most smartphones. I'm an electrical lighting technician in the entertainment industry, so there's pretty much always 120V AC service nearby, otherwise I wouldn't be there because I'd have no job, however I like having an "all in one" place to keep my personal stuff, and not have to worry about ever charging my phone off somewhere far away. It's either on me or in the bag, always. Oh yeah, and the best part of this backpack is the light. It's freaking awesome and makes everyone at work jealous. No more fumbling around in the dark trying to find something or pack stuff away and having to rely on a flashlight or headlamp--just a quick tap or two of the button and the interior of the bag is blasted with light, which can be directed anywhere (I've even used it while carrying the backpack to light the path in front of me). Seriously makes life so much easier. I love it. It is kind of bulky, and if you pack it full of stuff like I did, it'll be quite heavy. But at least it's a backpack and not a standard tool bag, so you can distribute the weight on both shoulders, which is important. So, overall, it's great. If you're more interested in the charging than anything else, but you don't already have DeWalt batteries, do yourself a favor and invest in a powerbank instead and get a different backpack, or buy the CLC backpack that is basically an exact duplicate of this, but has an included 15Ah powerbank (seriously, you can't beat that). I personally don't need a week's worth of charge available because I can just recharge the batteries when I get home, but everyone is different I suppose. It feels super durable and I don't foresee this bag getting worn out anytime in the next decade honestly. So I guess you could say it's...guaranteed tough. ... show more

  • Love it.
Color: Yellow Size: No Size
I bought the other 100 dollar dewalt backpack a few years ago. I recently tried to take out everything I didn't need out of it and it was still packed full. So I bought this one to be a pack for my electronics and lighter weight tools and gloves. It's amazing. The light is cool and I charge all my crap at work. Good product I love it. ... show more

  • Great bag if you can’t be near a toolbox or move a lot during work
Color: Yellow Size: No Size
This bag has been great so far! I have been using a smaller lunch box looking tool bag on the days I’m not in one central job site location. I switched to this bag mainly for the recharging of my phone (iPhone 7, which dies to fast in low service areas), then mobility, then the light, and then durability. I have a few DeWalt tools so I already had batteries and love their durability. It charges well! Often I’m underground or three stories high on a tank or in an abandoned building working and have no power for hours - even if I do I can’t leave my phone near an outlet while I walk off. I need it nearby for work calls and so no one steals it. This helps solve that problem. I move a lot so my work bag can’t be huge and I need to be able to set it down (a normal backpack just gets too dirty). Check. Also - I’m usually somewhere where I have zero to little light - the light on this is handy. As bright or brighter than a head lamp, but now I don’t need that awkward lamp on my hard hat or on my head/hat. Just aim it and go. I really have been liking it. I carry roughly four flashlights per job, if that gives you an idea of where I work (always somewhere dark or where no one has been in ten plus years), so having this light has been awesome. The bag itself is comfy to wear. Pads are nice. Straps are nice. Hand straps at the top are nice to grab quick and move like a normal tool bag. I do agree you should unplug the battery when not in use but that’s normal for any device. May drain about 2-5% of the battery after 12 hours. That’s what I’m seeing. But very normal. It charges devices fairly normally but not as fast as a normal outlet. I expected that. I’ve only been charging phones and blue tooth devices (small speakers and phone ear pieces - nothing all too large). I use it mainly to hold the power, not charge it from zero, but coworkers have used it and it charges at about 1% a minute. Pretty standard but it’s also safe and in my bag while we move about. The lights in the pack signal when your dewalt battery is low or when in use. Quite nice. I carry a backup one in the pack on longer days but haven’t had to switch out yet. I would buy it again and recommended this for my coworkers. —//—-2022 Update—//—- I wanted to submit an update as I saw a few people found my review helpful and I wanted to add some thoughts. I realize I never commented on the tool pouch portion! Oops! In the main compartment there are quite a few slots for carrying individual tools like screwdrivers, pliers, chisels, etc. the material the bag is made out of (inside and out) is very sturdy. With moderately gentle placement, my tools have not even come close to ripping the material. A worry I had of tools going in and out often. I carry a lot of hand tools and a roll of duct tape and other items in the main compartment. It’s quite large. Definitely gives you plenty of options for organizing. The front two pockets are nice as well. The front top one is the most useful. Fits plenty of pens, a small notepad and other quick access items. The lower pocket is more of a pouch. Good for a pair of gloves. That back pocket where the battery is stored isn’t overly wide, but holds the battery, cables, another flashlight and I store a large notepad and folder in there with a thin clipboard. This easily beats my larger tool bag that I carried with a strap over one shoulder (open-top style) or the smaller lunch bag size tool bag I used for size convenience. Not to sound like a commercial, but as a safety professional, I like this for all of the ladder and stair climbing I have to do. One more hand is free to hold the ladder or railing. Less strain on one shoulder holding all the weight too. It’s been about three years and I still don’t have any complaints. No real improvement recommendations either. I’ve scoped out a few other similar bags from other brands and even DeWalt (battery-less one with no light) and I still would buy this again. Worth the price tag. I use it less than I used to, but it’s my #1 go to tool bag. It also looks clean and professional when I leave it in an office. It’s not an open toolbag where you have to see unsightly tools or worry about items growing legs and walking off easily. ... show more

  • Great Bag, Awesome Innovation!!! 5 Out Of 5!!!
Color: Yellow Size: No Size
I bought this for my brother who's a maintenance tech at a large manufacturing facility, he has a lot of ground to cover and needs to carry a tablet along with several other tools to fix whatever he encounters throughout the day. Being a DeWALT guy, this is right up his alley as he has DeWALT power tools and batteries. After a little over a month on the job he is absolutely thrilled with this bag. He's got it loaded down with every type of tool you could imagine, but most of all, he loves the charging capabilities that it offers him when his tablet and phone start to drain as the day wears on. He documents and reports all of his activities through his tablet, so letting it run down is not an option. He also said the light has come in very handy on more than one occasion. Very happy with this purchase and now a little jealous, I think I'll buy one for myself. This bag is made with high quality materials and has a well thought-out design with pockets and storage in all the right places. I highly recommend it for anyone who is on the go but needs to carry and stow a lot of tools. DeWalt DGCL33 33-Pocket Lighted USB Charging Tool Backpack ... show more
