I searched every possible bracket and pole combination, I don't want to drill holes in my siding or posts, I hate umbrella stands, they take up valuable deck space. I wanted a temporary solution to move my sun shade sails around the deck in different configurations. Stumbled upon this treasure - no reviews, barely a description, sigh, looked good let's take a chance. Seller responded quickly on a few questions, box arrived on time as quoted, time to see if this is worth the investment and WOW!!! This bracket is STURDY! Heavy duty, seems to be well built. No rough edges, packed really well, solid white coating all over the place. Easy to install - you need a friend or it will be lopsided as you can see in the picture. Important Specs: 1. Can hold a pole up to a diameter of 1.5 inches 2. Will fit on a four inch post with a little bit of room on each side 3. Yes, there is enough clearance for the pole, it will not hit the end cap of the post (second picture) 4. Has vents in the bottom of the metal tube to allow water to pass through - note the pole will not slide through the pipe, it will sit on in the pipe 5. Has two pieces that you can tighten against the pole for additional stability - careful they are metal and will scratch your pole if painted Definitely recommend, did not find any other brackets that had this level of pole support. Finally found a product that can withstand hurricane like winds that blow through my backyard. I've tried everything out there over the past 12 years to safely secure my patio umbrellas around my pool deck. No one seem to make anything sturdy enough until I bought this product. Secures to my 4X4 deck railing posts, not whimpy balusters. I used to cringe any time the wind picked up around the pool area as i thought seconds later a patio umbrella would be flying into my pool wrecking my pool liner; not anymore. The wind now has to contest with my 4X4 post before it thinks about ripping my umbrella out of this mount. Can't say enough, so glad i found this product. Well worth the money. I looked for a very long time until I found this umbrella holder. It was important that it was made from aluminum as we live in Florida and corrosion is a huge problem. I also wanted it to be white to blend in with our railing. We installed ours on the outside of the railing to save even more space on front deck. I purchased this for my wife along with the umbrella as a gift. When I went to install the umbrella and use the product it did not go together. I only purchased this particular one as it was listed as frequently bought together(umbrella and stand).
