  • Works really well
Size: 1 Bowl
The first batch was still soupy after a half hour, it was obviously operator error combined with lack of proper instructions. The main thing that I have found: don’t add more than one cup of ice cream mix. One cup froze in 20 minutes, increased in volume to two cups owing to fantastic aeration, and was a delicious, soft serve bowl of ice cream. If I want to scoop it I will put it in the freezer to further harden. It is absolutely perfect soft serve. ... show more

  • This is crazy easy
Size: 2 Bowls
You don’t need a recipe! I have tried all kinds of things. I sometimes use half and half, 2%milk, whole milk and once heavy cream. So today I used a half cup of milk. I added a spoonful of cheesecake pudding mix to it and stirred it to dissolve it. Then I popped it into the freezer for 6 minutes to get colder. I am trying NOT to gain weight so I only make a half batch for myself. It was delicious!!!!! Sometimes I add chocolate sauce or use a spoonful of Junket ice cream mix. I get it at my grocery store for $2.50. I add enough to sweeten it like the pudding mix. I don’t cook anything or use eggs or vanilla and don’t like really sweet ice cream. I no longer use the heavy cream or whole milk. I don’t want to get fat! But I can’t wait to make it every day unfortunately. I figure that if I have it for breakfast I can wear off done calories. This thing is amazing. Don’t make yourself crazy looking for recipes or buying expensive ingredients. Keep it simple. This morning I added sliced banana and a little chocolate sauce. BTW the dress on I put the mixture in the freezer for a few minutes is because otherwise it might not be firm enough for you. It comes out perfect! ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Size: 2 Bowls
I really don’t know how people got theirs so creamy, I was expecting it to turn out the same when I tried. But sadly it was like a slushy consistency. I had froze the mugs for 24hrs and before using checked that they were nice and frozen. Left it mixing for about 20 minutes and notice no progress, only tiny chunks of ice. Since I had two mugs I switched it out for the other one I had left in freezer to see if it would make a difference. And after another 20 minutes it was like a mild slushy consistency. I’m a little disappointed but I guess that’s what you get for the price… I’m not really sure if it’s worth it. I put back the mug in the freezer with the mixture and I’ll leave it in for another 15 minutes to see if that makes a difference. But after all the hassles, I don’t think it’s worth. Most likely I will return it :(, kinda sad it didn’t work UPDATE: After reading some reviews, I found the best hack to get this thing to work. 1) don’t fill up the bowl, only use about 1/2 cup of liquid, 2) before mixing stick the pour the mixture in the mug and let it sit in the freezer for about 5-8 minutes, 3) mix for about 15 minutes, 4) stick in the freezer again for 5-8 minutes, 5) mix for a few more minutes. When I did it this way it came out super creamy. It’s pretty tedious but you can’t complain for the price. ... show more

  • Not Worth The Hassle
Size: 2 Bowls
Don't buy. Just get a blender and milkshake mix. The unnecessary steps and process to use and get the results you want are ridiculous. You have to keep the empty bowl heavily frozen, and the spatula barely turns the mixture. It's virtually useless. It was simpler to make a mix in my blender, freeze for a few hours. I got a better consistency and multiple servings. Which is funny because you technically need to premix, blend, and freeze before adding in order to use this anyway, so you might as well skip using this product all together. This product is really just a cute serving bowl paperweight. I would return but missed the window. Again, just buy a blender and your own mix because this product is overcomplicated and worthless. ... show more

  • Speed is okay
Size: 2 Bowls
I purchased this product since my son wanted me to make icecream. I followed all the direction but still couldn’t make the icecream I wanted. The speed of icecream maker is very very slow than what you need to make icecream. I ended up using my mixing jar to make icecream. It was easy to assemble but was not satisfied with the performance of product. Cleaning is easy and quality is good. ... show more

  • Perfect for one person
Size: 2 Bowls
I love this little thing. The size isn't just about portion control (though for one person, that's nice). The smaller area also freezes the icecream better than one of the large ones, and the cups themselves freeze more quickly in your freezer. I've found I can't just add a smaller amount to a larger device for portion control, because it will either freeze to ice too quickly or not at all. But these freeze so well, I just made a mixture of Kiefer, dairy free yogurt, some Xilytol sweetener, and frozen raspberries (pictured). My larger drum icecream maker would never have frozen that mixture because the yogurt doesn't have enough fat. I used to have to add quite a lot of whipping cream to that large drum to make it the right consistancy. These are also so small, on a hot day, I stick it in the fridge while it's turning the icecream just to help keep everything cool. ... show more

  • Works as expected.
Size: 2 Bowls
I read reviews of this prior to purchase and had concerns about the ability to chill anything into ice cream. However I think it may be poor effort on those individuals part. I keep a cup in the freezer until ready to use. I aim to have the mixture i’m making into ice cream cold before putting in the cup. I put the top on and let it work for about 20 min and am very happy with the result. If you want rock hard ice cream, then this isn’t for you, but fresh soft serve like homemade ice cream usually is..it’s great. I bought this to make faux ice cream as an alternative for health reasons and think it’s great. Enough ice cream for 1-2 servings and satisfies a sweet tooth craving. ... show more
