I purchased this Dash rice cooker almost a year ago. It is just my husband and I in the home normally. I wanted a rice cooker, but had no need for a large one. This was on sale, so I gave it a shoot. It came with a measuring cup, rice paddle and instructions. I love it. It cooks rice perfectly, as long as you follow the water to rice ratios. For example, plain white rice is 1 to 1.25 per the lines on the pot, but jasmine is 1 to 1.5 per the measuring cup. I have also used it to make Couscous, Quinoa and Barley. I just follow the ratios on the packages. I also can add oils, spices and vegetables in the pot before I start the cooking process. It will make enough servings for 1-3 people. It has a metal pot and a glass lid that are very easy to clean. They have included recipes in the instruction booklet for everything from flavored grains, to chili's, soups and cakes. Although I have not tried them yet, I am positive they would come out just as good as the grains. The only problem I have seen is the rice/grains will get a little brown on the bottom if you let it sit on warm for to long. However it has never burned. When I received the pot, it was missing the paddle in the box. I called the company and received great customer support. I had my paddle within a few days. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a small cooker for rice, grains and beans. ... show more

I was quite surprised on the efficiency for this item. But first, I MUST say, I can't cook!!!!! Really. But with the instructions, I cooked a PERFECT pot of rice. I makes a fair serving for one-two. It will even keep the rice warm which is a very handy/nice feature. I use it quite often for different rice-types w/o any errors! Clean-up is a breeze as this tiny pot stores almost anywhere. I keep mine in a small clear bag so that all of the parts are always in the same place when I need it. (MY FAULT: I bag the components for this pot because I like it & do not plan to buy another! So the baggies is needed when ricer components are coming out of the dishwasher. This ricer has a very small glass top that's easy to miss. The black inner container is so unassuming that it can be mistaken for a cup/bowl to be stored where no one will ever find it. The rice measuring cup is even smaller. So keep the parts together! This mini rice cooker is great for smaller portions and fewer people. It's quite easy to use and an adorable color. It is a bit wobbly when you're trying to get the rice out so an oven mitt might be necessary. Other than that it works perfectly and the rice comes out great. The measuring lines on the cooker and the cup it comes with produce great results but experiment a bit with the water level if you want the rice firmer or softer. ... show more

I really like the rice cooker. It works well. It does bubble over a little bit but it's easy to clean and cooked the rice really well. It's a perfect size for two people. I like the size which makes it easy to keep in a cabinet.

This thing is freaking amazing. For context, I live in my mom's basement, so it's just me and I'm only feeding one person, so the portion size is perfect for me (though you could easily feed up to 2 people with this.) The space I live in doesn't have a stove, so this rice cooker helps cook alot of my meals. I've made rice, boiled pasta, boiled eggs. Anything you can make in a pot you can basically make in this. It doesn't take terribly long to cook either, it's relatively fast. I will say, you can't select specific heat temperatures , it only has "cook" and "keep warm", but this hasn't proved to be an issue for anything I have made. One thing that's important to mention is I wouldn't just leave it alone, because if you're boiling water, eventually it will start to bubble a bit out of the lid, but it's never gotten to the point where it leaks onto the counter (I've always gotten to it beforehand, I'm sure if left alone it eventually will.) Ofc that's not much different from boiling water in anything else tho. It makes a bubbling noise before that starts to happen, and I have heard it from the other room, so I know when it's heating up. Overall it's silent besides when the water bubbles over. DO be careful when handling though, because the whole thing gets very hot, especially the pot part, I would recommend using an oven mit or towel to hold one side when scooping food out. For the price, it's a great little cooker, I've made alot of good meals with it. Would be good to have in a dorm or similar situation as me. ... show more
