I've had it for almost a year and have used it regularly, through 4 seasons. Because of the glass, the flame was protected from breezes (attached video taken in Nov). It doesn't give off a significant amount of heat but does give a cozy ambiance. I used the unreturnable bio-fuel I mentioned in my previous comments below. There was no difference in burn time, smell, or any other factor so I continue to use significantly cheaper 91% rubbing alcohol from the dollar store. I will be buying another, once the prices come back down. I'm thinking of either getting this exact one again to have a matching pair, or possibly getting one of the long rectangular ones. Note that the base is plastic and if you look too closely, it can look a little cheap and flimsy. This allows it to be light and easily portable. I've had several social gatherings and no one has commented on a 'cheap' look so I call it a win. Sept 2022 initial review: Absolutely love this! Those that have given it low reviews didn't set it up properly. It's packaged upside down so if you put it together the way you took it out of the packaging, it won't set up correctly and you will definitely be confused and disappointed. If you pour out the rocks into the base and it seems there's not enough, and the cup with the cloth wants to fall out, you have the base upside down. I ordered bio-ethanol which was going to arrive a few days after the fire bowl so out of impatience I tried some rubbing alcohol to test the bowl (91% from the dollar store). It burns fantastically so I no longer need or want the significantly more expensive biofuel I ordered. However, Amazon will Not accept the return of the fuel because it's a gas *shrug* they can ship it but you can't return it??? Don't bother buying the bio-fuel, a bottle of high percentage rubbing alcohol from the dollar store is the same thing and much cheaper (the difference in rubbing alcohol and the bio-ethanol is the process used to make it. They both act exactly the same and have the same burn time.) I'm not sure where the manufacturer got the several hour estimate for burn time. You get about an hour or so and you have to wait for the cup to cool down before you can fill and light again. Because of this difference, I give this 4 stars instead of 5 because the burn estimate is very misleading and disappointing. But based on other reviews, I anticipated only an hour so with that adjusted expectation, I have thoroughly enjoyed the fire bowl. If the description estimated an hour of burn time, I'd give it 5 stars. ... show more

I got this as a Valentine's day gift for my BF last year. He's talked about his love of fireplaces & desire to have one in his future home, so I figured while we're living the apartment life, I would get him the next best thing. He absolutely loved it, we've had many a date night with this on our coffee table, brought it into our complex yard to sit in the dark by the firelight, and he adores it. The setup is ridiculously easy, it's a beautiful table centerpiece and the fire makes really cool sounds from within the vacuum of the glass if you're using it (to my knowledge you don't need to use the glass, but I have cats and they're dumb, so we keep it on lol). The only thing we don't love is how quickly the fuel burns up - using isopropyl alcohol, we get an hour out of the "max fill". Maybe if I do a little research I can find something that burns a little slower, but for now at least we know we're not going to accidentally leave it burning! ... show more

I saw this on one of my designer YouTube channels. I had to have one. Easy to put together. Fuel only lasted 40 minutes however. It's out on my lanai. I would use it in a well ventilated area. Can't wait to see what guests think.

I love how this looks when the flame is on, but please make sure to get the non-scented ones so it doesn’t smell up your house. It’s a very nice decoration for any living room or house.

The media could not be loaded. I this is such a statement piece to have in your home! I have used this for an indoor s’mores night with my family. I recommend it but there are some pros and cons. I’ll share them below Pros: 1: This fire pit is easy to assemble, you can change out the rocks it comes with. 2: Simple to use. Just add your ethanol fuel to the tin, place it in the center and light it up. 3: Beautiful, simple and such a stunning piece to have 4: easy to clean. Cons: 1:Use a good fuel or it will burn out quickly. 2: It heats up the outside tin a bit so make sure you keep an eye on it and I recommend placing something under so it won’t damage your furniture. If you’re also wondering, it doesn’t though out heat. Depending on the ethanol fuel you use, the time frame for the flame is one hour. Overall, I do recommend this product! The media could not be loaded. I purchased a large and small size. I love how it looks when burning. Please note that the small one gets very hot on the glass and the base. The tall one (that’s on my coffee table) gets hot on the glass but the base remains cool so I can sit it on the wood. Be very cautious about where you sit the small one. As far as burn time, I am not happy with having to refill it every 30 minutes with the biofuel, as it is very expensive, so I’m going to try the high percentage alcohol that another reviewer suggested; I may come back and update this . I suggest the purchase if the alcohol works, otherwise you’ll be spending $30-$40 a month on biofuel if you’d like to burn it every night like I do. (Do not use tiki torch fuel as it will leave your glass coated with black soot. You want to look for a clean burning fuel) ... show more
