I purchased this unit for my sister who moved into assisted living. While I looked at quite a few models, this was the only one I found that had adequate freezer space and more than adequate shelving to hold bottled drinks, snacks and fruit. I love the produce bin!     • Good size freezer, but not very good use of shelving space.
I went with this 4.4 cu. ft. mini-fridge because it is energy efficient for our off-grid habit, Danby is a reputable company that's been around a long time, and because it has a nice size freezer, larger than the "ice cube freezers" for fridges this size. We wanted a functional mini kitchen fridge, not a "bar-oriented" fridge with a small freezer and half of the door compartment is taken up by 12 oz. can holders... But, I am disappointed in the arrangement of the shelving options in the door and the main compartment and the number of shelves that come with it. We are getting rid of an LP gas 2.9 cu. ft. fridge and the number of shelves is the same in both. This one does have the crisper drawer that the other one did not. I will see if I can buy another door shelf and another main compartment shelf but would probably need to do some customizing of the two to hang them higher or lower than the shelf below and above. Ps. Don't buy the black color, it attracts heat and makes the fridge less energy-efficient. (I realized that after I bought it...) ... show more

    • Damaged on Receipt
Despite the fact that the packaging on this unit had no evidence of damage and the packaging was very well designed the unit did have damage at the time of receipt. There were five dents on the right side of the unit which I reported to the manufacturer but since they're hidden in our cabinet we don't care about them. However, on the interior, the vegetable bin had two large cracks in it. I did report this to the manufacturer and they are replacing it without problem.     • VERY GOOD FRIDGE!!
It did come with small dent but I do not even care because it works so well! I have had this almost a month and the Ice cube trays I bought come out smoking and crackling cause the freezer gets so cold! It does not have a fake "freezette", it has a real freezer. It goes up to 7 on the thermostat and I have It on 6. Freezes Ice In like an hour or so. Its much bigger than I thought too! fridge is very cold. Even builds up frost in freezer!     • Different features than the usual mini fridge
Had a hard time finding a mini fridge like this one. It has a separate freezer compartment instead of the freezer with the flap door that always freezes over. Also, the door had actual shelves made of sturdy material and they are adjustable- doesn't have that can dispenser that most of them have. Inside the shelves are glass and don't just lay on the pegs, but they actually fit into slots so they won't slide out. Very quiet. My original one shipped damaged, and they replaced it immediately!
