I feel like this runner will hold up well. It is thick enough to be substantial and has not shown any wear so far. It is soft underfoot. There was a significant smell after unraveling. It smelled like wasp spray. After a day, that smell was gone. There is a few bumps in it at first but it eventually flattens out. UPDATE #3: I’ve had this rug in the hallway for a year now. Over time it’s not an exact rectangle and curves slightly. I think it could be from time or from Washing and drying it. I wash on gentle and pre soak / 2 rinses. And I dry on delicate to avoid shrinking and because other reviews showed that the rug tears and separates. Even still, the shape isn’t too bad and it still serves its purpose and looks nice. I did have the rug stitching connecting braid rows split about 2 inches. This is also not too bad because it’s an easy fix. It’s a high traffic area, I wash the rug about every 2 months, and there are 2 dogs that run around constantly and the rug dampens the noise. I did notice that the two sides are completely different colors now. Even after washing, the used side is darker than the cleaner and lighter unused side. So I plan on flipping the rug so it gets even wear. But for te price, this is a great rug because I can wash it in the washing machine as opposed to a carpet or steam cleaner. Area rugs and runners are great since I love pets and really dislike carpets and I like to keep things mopped, vacuumed, and washed. *********** UPDATE #2: So, clearly this manufacturer must know better than the customer (me) - because this rug is really great. So far the dogs haven’t chewed it the way they do with thinner rugs. I like going with a braided option so I can wash them in a washing machine as opposed to steam cleaning or spot cleaning. I don’t need a anti slip pad. The rug stays in place. And I’ve grown to ignore the stitching color. I don’t notice it anymore. The grey rug looks great in the hallway. *********** UPDATE: The replacement arrived. It’s the correct size that I originally ordered. And I’m glad that I kept it. It feels soft to walk on and it looks good in the hallway. *********** First of all, I paid for a 2’6” x 12’ rug. I received a 2’6” x 8’ rug. Glad that happened because if I received what I ordered, improbably would have kept it since it’s in a hallway that doesn’t always have the lights on and is really to soften the footsteps of the dogs and catch the dust. But, looking closer, the rug is a tan, grey, olive mix. And the stitching is brown and doesn’t match any of the colors in the rug. And it’s basic thread so it isn’t plastic thread or anything that looks durable. Writing this review while I’m on the phone with Amazon. So, the manager came on. And because she had such great customer service, she arranged for UPS to pick this up tomorrow and for me to receive a replacement of what I initially ordered by next week. Since I don’t have to be inconvenienced with taking this wrong size rug to UPS, I’ll go ahead and receive the replacement. ... show more

I was looking for something that was soft enough for a bedroom, but washable and durable enough because we're using this in our Airbnb. This rug does not have that plastic feel that most outdoor rugs have. Color is true to pics with a variety of blues. Design on the 8x10 is versatile enough to work w/ coastal, modern farmhouse or even traditional decor. If you read the reviews carefully you will see many reviewers mentioning that this rug begins to fall apart rather quickly (eg. fibers coming out, tufts from vacuuming, etc.) This is absolutely accurate. Know that if you are buying this rug it will NOT last forever. For me, it was just shy of 1 year before it disintegrated into a million microplastic fibers and I was forced to throw it away. The saddest part was that the fibers stuck to my cats hair, meaning she was licking little up little pieces of plastic. I had to throw it out. The rug is beautiful, soft, and actually works great outside as advertised. I used mine on my small apartment patio. And yes, it got rained on many times, but it never mildewed or molded. I was thrilled with this aspect of the rug. However, the plastic fibers its made out of are actually TINY. That's why any amount of traction will gradually loosen the bond between them, and eventually they all fall apart. I managed to double its life span by flipping it over after 6 months and got another 5 months out of it before trashing it. It felt very wasteful. Though, I loved the rug while it lasted, and the price is very low. So all in all, buyer be ware. ... show more
