  • Nikon quality, great features, affordable price.
Smartphone cameras are amazing, for what they are. So are many of the compact digital cameras, especially the super-zooms from Canon and Nikon. But I grew up when film was "it", and I missed the versatility and expandability of single-lens reflexes. This Nikon D5600 is an excellent choice for anyone who wants more than just a point-and-shoot and plans on printing at anything more than Facebook-quality resolution. It isn't as sophisticated as higher-end members of the Nikon line, but much more than adequate for most amateur photographers who have plans to grow within the hobby. A 24-megapixel resolution DX-size sensor allow high-quality prints that go beyond 8x10, and it's just the right size for anyone who ever used a35mm SLR. I chose the model with an 18-140mm zoom lens, which is plenty for any casual shooting situation. If you are a former 35mm SLR shooter who's been using digital compact and bridge cameras, this is _the_ DSLR you want to bring you back into photography the way you remember it. Actually, it's better than the Nikon and Pentax gear I used to own, thanks to auto-focus, long battery (no more stopping after 36 exposures) and multiple-ISO versatility. Advanced shooter might be happier with the D7200 or D7500, but even then this will make an excellend second body. ... show more

  • Very satisfied for the quality
This is a relatively "inexpensive" Nikon model, but both the camera and the 18-400mm lens exceeded my expectations. The colors are deep and rich, and the pictures are sharp. Several of my amateur photographer friends thought I had gotten a Leica. It's relatively light in weight, and the battery life is very decent. Now the weaknesses - there is noticeable vignetting when zoomed in at a large aperture setting, and the LCD screen does not render color accurately when you use it either as a viewfinder or to view pictures taken. For connecting to smartphone wirelessly, it is nearly useless! Connections fail all the time. Snapbridge is a really poor piece of software. I use a 3rd party iphone to SD card pigtall adapter instead which does the job of transferring photos from the camera to the iphone beautifully. So the wireless part of the camera is nearly a waste. But if your focus is on photo quality, it is more than satisfactory. ... show more

  • Green's Camera World is a top notch retailer for Nikon
I've had Nikon cameras for years. They are reliable, rugged and provide top notch picture quality. I now own my second one and the touch screen is a super addition.

  • Camera good. Wifi-Bluetooth to smartphone connectivity not so much
Very happy with camera except the camera to smartphone connectivity is sketchy at best which is one of the reasons I wanted this camera. Loses a star for poor smartphone to camera connectivity. I find that the camera and iPhone don’t synch when I am just trying to do a quick connect to download a few pictures. If not having to start the pairing process multiple times, I am having to unpair the two and go through the entire pairing process again before they will connect. Hardly convenient. The firmware update failed to fix this issue. ... show more

  • Outstanding purchase and delivery
I order the D5600 DX-Format Digital SLR w/AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR for my upcoming Birthday. I also order the extra accessories I wanted (tripod, bag, extra battery, a 128gb SD card). All arrived within one to two days and is exactly what I ordered. A lot of research went into deciding on this camera, I looked at the Nikon D3500,D7500, Cannon EOS T6 and T7i just to name a few. For me (more then a beginner but not a Pro) the D5600 camera body and lens package is what I was looking for. The Nikon Snapbridge app was fast and easy to install on my Android phone and located my camera via WiFi and Bluetooth (yes the camera has both) without a hitch. There are also plenty of great tutorials out there for this camera. I highly recommend this package for either beginners or for those like me, jumping back into photography and wanting to hit the ground running. ... show more

  • I love this camera!
I had a Sony a6000 and was never really happy with the small size of the body. I decided to give this Nikon D5600 a try, because it's still small, yet just big enough to fit well in the hands, and balances well with larger lenses. What a wonderful purchase this turned out to be! My workflow has become so much easier because the out of camera jpegs are near perfect, to my taste anyway. I usually shoot RAW, but even the Raw files run through Nikon's software, or Capture One, come out beautifully, with very little post processing needed. I love this camera! ... show more

  • Very pleased
Ordered this DSLR to be my secondary camera to my D800 for wedding photography. The kit lens 18-140mm is very sharp but in low light does lack a little bit, but that's to be expected since it is a f/3.5-5.6G but it's the best kit lens option. The touch screen is very fun to use, I wish my D800 had that feature. I would absolutely recommend this kit for an amuater photographer or novice you get what you pay for and then some it's an entry level DSLR but that term is overused and can very well be semi-pro. The 24.2 MP is awesome my first DSLR at the same price only had 12.3 MP but came with 3 lenses. The one con is that you can't use a wireless remote unless you buy a battery grip, many of them come with them and it does make the camera feel more secure to hold if you have big hands like I do. A grip means an extra battery and more time for you to shoot anyway! Nikon promotes the app snapbridge for to be the remote but eh don't want to be on the phone while shooting it drains your phone battery. • Worth every dollar
Amazing camera. I upgraded from D90. This one is much better. Light, quick and easy to use. Bluetooth and built in wi-fi are awesome features. Picture quality is much better that iPhone x or d90.
