  • Standby for my PC.
Style: Compact Size: 425VA
Where I live the power seems to flick off and back on now and then. On a couple occasions the pause shut down my PC. To prevent corrupting my PC drive I added this unit. It is small and handles this issue just fine. I will also get another one to place on my internet modem as it takes 5 minutes to reboot and connect when that happens. The unit has been working very well for me. ... show more

  • Perfect for router wiring cabinets
Style: Slim Size: 700VA
…. Just installed . . . more later. . . However, my first impression is that this is an ideal UPS (battery backup) for a router cabinet. It is slim enough to just set inside, with no brackets or ties. The outlets are widely spaced, correctly oriented, and the USB ports were a bonus. This is the ONLY UPS i have found that fits in a wiring cabinet. It has enough power to kerp a router and switch running for an hour or more. ... show more

  • Slim enough to fit behind my TV stand.
Style: Slim Size: 950VA
I received this just in time before a hurricane was coming. Our whole-home generator takes about 30 seconds to kick in. This kept our TV, wifi and internet connections from dropping out during that time. We all know that if the power flickers for just a second, the wifi drops out and it takes 15 minutes before reconnecting. Power flickered literally 10 times over the course of 1/2 hour, and then finally went out for a few days. This battery lasted until the generator took over with no issues running everything attached. Plug and play with plenty of spaced outlets for what I need. ... show more

  • CyberPower is a good performer but they have issues.
Style: Compact Size: 425VA
I worked for 40 years in electronics. Cyber Power works quite well. The batteries in them last 3+ years, and they are cheaper than other uninterruptible units. However, Cyber generally lacks features that are common in APC power supplies. (I noticed they are changing and copying popular APC features and holding their prices lower). When Power supplies function well, I like to swap aging batteries for fresh ones. With APC, I had no problems finding the dimensions of their batteries and ordering them. I have some APCs operating for 16+ years, which I consider legendary. Legendary costs more. CyberPower sells for less. I use one 425W to maintain power interruptions from my internet. Light loads are handled well, but my main Peave with CyberPower are two things. 1. "No user installable batteries for the 425." (let me be the judge of that.) That is bull-puppy! The battery dimensions cannot be referenced in their 425 Watt. 2. CyberPower batteries and shipping cost more than buying a new unit. I hate to pitch a functional product in the junk because the battery lived to a ripe old age or faded away. All batteries should be easily located by dimensional searches. (They are not.) I have spent hours wasting away when a battery does the same thing regardless of how you shape it.. ... show more

  • Competitive value, efficient design, survived a major power surge!
Style: Compact Size: 625VA
ST625U received 2-25-2020 - I have not had a power outage yet but they happen a lot here in Florida during tropical storm season. EDIT UPDATE ON 10/19/2020 - IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE OF ALL THREE OF MY ST625U UPS units when a massive sustained power surge from an underground power cable failure burnt up 5 of my home's stand alone surge protector outlets! My CPAP kept running right through the event while my neighbor's wall wiring burnt up! All 3 of my 625's are still working after giving 40 minutes of stand-by power and their breakers did not blow - END EDIT .... SECOND EDIT 10/2023: all 3 of my units and their batteries are still going strong! I just slept through a short power outage while using CPAP END SECOND EDIT. A slight odor of 'burnt' electronics right out of the box is normal for some electronics product manufacturing methods, do not be concerned with a slight odor that does not get stronger with use. It will diminish. I tested this unit with my powered 5 motor recliner, an LED desk light and laptop running while it was unplugged from the wall 5 minutes. I will definitely update the review if any issue develops (done!). I'm a degreed biomedical technician and this design looks fine for short term outages. This is NOT for CPAP sleeping use, battery is far too small except for short power outages. The isolated battery compartment opens easily with one phillips screw and only has battery wires inside it. I inspected the battery and found 13.2 volt charge after 6 hours plugged in. The charging circuit is extra energy efficient and causes almost no detectable waste heat, an excellent feature, as claimed on the box. After 6 hours there was only one small area of the case that had a barely warm feeling, like human skin. You can triple the run time when the original battery wears out by adding a larger battery that does not fit in the case, like a 17 AH SLA battery. You have to extend the battery wires long enough to let the battery sit next to the UPS. You must have soldering skills and the right tools to do this. The larger battery will not allow use of larger, more power hungry devices but it will greatly increase run time for your existing use during power outages. The larger batteries cost about the same but they are more durable. I have no interest in setting up the software monitoring. Just a gimmick for this size device. The UPS software may not recognize a larger battery capacity but it might if it is based only on voltage remaining. As the instructions say, this will beep when power goes out but you can mute the beeping in advance by tapping the main power button twice. I don't know if it retains the mute setting after a complete battery discharge. You can just locate a battery the same dimensions of the original if you want it to fit in the case. It is 'CPS5.5AH' 6 inches long, 3 3/4 high without terminals, and 2 inches wide. I decided to buy another one of this model for my modem, router and Ooma phone box to prevent those tedious full reboots after a power glitch. ... show more

  • Great for light load
Style: Compact Size: 425VA
This is a couple bucks cheaper than an APC brand from wally world with same specs. It works. However, you really need to understand that its only going to handle light loads. I purchased this only to keep my internet up for a couple hours and to prevent damage from brownouts and surges. I full understood that it would only give me time to get the generator running. For reference, so you do not waste your time, this is what it could and could not run when I tested it: - Ran my ISP router, home router, and 16-port switch for over 3 hours, all at the same time! - Ran my CPAP machine for over 4 hours. - Ran my 90W laptop charger for about 2.5 hours. - Ran a 750GPH bilge pump for 7 hours, (turning on about every 5 minutes). - Will not run a standard 2000GPH sump pump. It doesn't have the amps. ... show more

  • Not sure what I expected - but 4 years later and the psu needs battery replaced.
Style: Compact Size: 625VA
worked well over the last 4 years. however, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the alarm that tells you the battery is dead / dying.

  • Power backup.
Style: Compact Size: 425VA
Works great. Protects laptops from power surges as well as power loss, providing more than enough time to shut down everything appropriately.
