  • Good basic bike rack, bad assembly instructions
Style: Bike Rack with Basket
The rack itself is basic, but has all good components. I particularly like that they have rubber grips built into the washers making it really sturdy and greatly reducing the risk of any screws coming dislodged from biking vibrations. The metal is sturdy and should be able to hold a reasonable amount of weight. The basket is quite nice as well and has a large capacity. Assembly: The only real issue I have with this is that the instructions were not very detailed and the images weren't clear enough so I ended up having to undo all my screws once I realized I had done it wrong. It took me quite a while to put it together and the wrench seemed to be just slightly large since it only worked at very specific angles. ... show more

  • Great Sturdy Lightweight Rack and Basket
Style: Bike Rack with Basket
I figured this would make the weekly trips to the grocery store a little more economical than driving each time and I can say with certainty that this rack and basket are fabulous. They are built of lightweight aluminum so, when empty, they don’t really change the feeling of the bike, and don’t result in you having to pedal extra hard in order to get to your destination. The metal is all coated pretty well, with a couple of exceptions where there were either imperfections in the black paint or scratches that occurred prior to my opening. Everything came bundled inside the basket, which was handy. The frame feels very firm and like it could handle a significant amount of weight. When not doing grocery runs, I expect to replace the basket with some soft-sided panniers that should fit nicely along the well-reinforced frame that protects the wheel from hitting the bags. Assembly was a bit of an adventure. Instructions are provided in several different languages, including one that mostly resembles English, albeit with significant spelling and grammatical issues. With the photos, it’s not hard to figure out what goes where, and the hardware provided are pretty robust and did not deform or strip when assembling the frame or attaching to the bike. Hopefully they do not rust, but I have not had it long enough to verify that. One thing I will note here - use your own tools! The wrench and Allen key provided are soft metal and actually deformed themselves when I was putting the frame on the bike, which was discouraging. Even worse, I further scratched the paint when the wrench became stuck on a nut and I had to force it off, which was very frustrating. Fortunately they are not uncommon tools, so you will probably have an 8mm and 10mm socket, as well as a 4mm Allen key laying around if you are remotely handy. Performance wise, this thing handles well and holds up to some major bumps once on the bike. I did have to bend the bars attaching the front of the rack to the bike’s trailing arm because they would otherwise intersect with the brake line. Please make sure you clear your brake lines when installing this or you could be in for a bad time! I’ve loaded the basket with a few items and the included bungee strap holds things in pretty securely, though I would have preferred a tighter mesh. Smaller items may still find their way out over bumps. For the price, this is a very high quality rack and basket combo. The two fit together well since they were designed to do so and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for something similar. ... show more

  • Strong rack
Style: Bike Rack
It took me 30 minutes to put this rack together and mount it to the bike, the tools included with it were useless so get your tool box to finish this right Overall it looks nice, stable and strong to carry the extra load behind you, but not a person, this doesn’t have the weight capacity

  • THIS HOLDS UP WELL
Style: Bike Rack
I upgraded my mountain bike a couple of months ago, and I moved a rear cargo rack from the old to the new. My problem was that the old rack was very close to my tire even when at maximum extension. It looked weird and made me nervous. So I saw this rack and decided to give it a try. I’m very glad I did. The rack is made from aluminum, and is very light. The sides bolt to the top, rather than being welded. But once I put it together it felt rock solid. All of the nuts are locking type, with a rubber ring inside. One aspect of the design I was not wild about are the mounting bracket arms that extend from the front of the rack to the bicycle’s mounting points. The arms are made from flat sheet metal, and are designed to bend in order to accommodate variously positioned attachment points. That offers flexibility, but I have attachment points on the seat tube clamp at the same level as the rack, and I didn’t need the arms to bend. Preferring something more rigid, I substituted some round rod arms from my old rack. But just to be clear, I tried the supplied arms and they worked just fine—my review and score is based on the supplied parts. But that brings up a point tangental to my evaluation: if you like or need to modify your gear, this rack provides a versatile starting base. But there is nothing at all wrong with the parts they supplied. Indeed, the design and build quality of the components is really good. Welds are solid. Bolts are good. The reflector is big and nice, with properly angled sides. A bungee cord with nice plastic hook ends is included (instead of the common cheap and sometimes sharp metal hooks). And they even provide an 8mm / 10 mm wrench to help with assembly—it’s a real cast wrench, not one of those tiny stamped sheet metal things a lot of companies provide. Amazing! My new bike is a beast: an extra large frame with 29” by 2.6” tires. A lot of racks just won’t fit it. I’m pleased to announce that this rack fits great. It’s big, it’s strong, and it looks good. Glad to have it. NOTE: My photograph shows the rack with my substituted front mounting arms and a rear tail light, not the reflector that was supplied. ... show more

  • Works well, not too heavy
Style: Bike Rack
The tubes are a little wider than some other racks I have seen but this is not heavy so it’s not a problem. Installation took a while because the instructions were horrible. In the end, it’s a decent rack that we are looking forward to using.
