    • Quality grater!
I have been suffering with old, dull graters for years now. Now that I'm doing some serious cooking, the old grater just was not going to do the trick anymore. It was time for an upgrade. I chose this particular model after seeing it in action at my son's place. This box grater is extremely versatile - each side has a different purpose, from zesting citrus, to ultra-course for soft cheeses. There is a removable plastic bottom that holds in grated materials and provides a non-slip base; it also can be used for grating ginger. The ginger grater does exactly as advertised: it shreds fresh ginger while leaving fibers behind. I use that feature often. The cutters are very sharp so handle with care. It really makes short work of grating duties! I carefully hand wash mine as suggested by the manufacturer, but others say that it can go into the dishwasher. It's really not a problem to hand wash, as the openings are large enough to get into for a proper cleaning. While this grater is on the expensive side, I believe that it is well worth the extra expenditure - it is solidly built, sharp, gives me a variety of grating/slicing options and performs beautifully. ... show more

This box grater is very good. Each of its sides grates, shreds, or slices beautifully. The cut-outs are very sharp, and the removable, sturdy base fits well and snugly, but is easy to remove. Shredding cheese goes quickly with this large, sturdy, very stable grater. And, it is super easy to clean. It's large, but that's not a problem--I just store it in a cupboard with other gadgets. The handle is sized well and is sturdily attached to the body. I am a woman with fairly large hands, and the handle is comfortable for me. Even my son, who has very big hands, finds this grater comfortable and easy to use. This is a well-made product with attention to detail. I can highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an excellent box grater. ... show more

I'm very impressed! The slicer side went through raw purple fingerling potatoes, skin on, very easily. Yet, when I run my finger over the same blade, there is no hint of flesh cutting ability. Still, I recommend extreme mindfulness. My intention was to get one tool to serve as both grater and mandolin to save space. While it is not adjustable, this suits my needs nicely. The 'bonus ginger grater' snaps in firmly, holds shredded material until needed. Construction feels solid. Did not wobble at all while grating. The combo of stability and sharpness allowed me to take the potatoes all the way to the end - no waste! Can't wait to use it on more foods. :) ... show more

    • All in one grater.
Better than standard box graters, even with bottoms, coming out of China. You can easily shift from grater to grater edge, all of which are sharp enough to do any job. Designed to not cut or harm human hands. A well made product with a ginger grater, all in one. I have used this to grate zest, chocolate, almond paste, which is oily and sticky, and have been very satisfied with the results. An excellent choice, if more expensive than generics. I still find myself cutting chocolate with a knife to save time, but the combined effect of graters, from powdered dust to little pieces, finely shaved slices etc. enhances every chocolate recipe. Very precise grater. Sturdy n versatile. Love the comfortable handle, wide base n attachment at the bottom that catches food n aids with storage. Very sharp blades. Should come with some storage cover to protect against injury. My go to grater.

I once owned a wonderful Williams Sonoma 6-sided grater that was similar. Williams Sonoma no longer sells a 6 sided grater, so I bought this one. I can honestly say, this one is way better. The top handle is very easy to grip and seems slip-resistant. The bottom comes with a removable "cap" that is also slip-resistant. It's perfect for holding the grated product in place until the job's done. Although they are not specifically calling this a micro-plane grater, it is very similar to a micro-plane style. Seems much sharper than the Williams Sonoma one I had. Oh, and the bottom "cap" has a built in ginger grater... so it really serves 7 functions. I love it. ... show more

    • Excellent grater, with bonus "stuff catcher"
This is a fantastic grater. The grip is slightly rubberized, making it easy and comfortable to grip with wet hands, and the 6 different sides make it a very flexible tool. It's also heavy duty and sturdy, yet simple to wash off in the sink. The "ginger grater" is the black edge you see on the bottom of the picture - it fits snugly onto the bottom and simply pulls off when you want it. This grater also functions as a "bottom" of the grater, so you can grate directly and then simply pop the bottom off to empty everything into a bowl. Very handy! ... show more
