  • Easy to Operate, Cooks/heats as expected
I bought this to replace a crock-pot I have had for the last 6 years -the digital display is starting to go and I didn't want to be caught without one day. So far to "test" it I used it to make a " refried beans without the refry" recipe that I have made for years and the cooker performed flawlessly. I did notice a little more liquid evaporated than usual but other than that there was no difference in the time it took to cook. Part of the reason I chose this crock-pot was ease of use. I really just wanted as little fuss as possible, I didn't want to have to figure out how to program the thing but I DID want to be able to set the time up and down in 30 minute increments. So this fits that requirement for me perfectly. The display is great , easy to see. The outsides do get hot which I was aware of before I ordered - I keep mine up up and back on a counter so that the little ones aren't able to touch it anyways so not really a big deal. The little crock included is ok..I used it to keep some nacho cheese dip warm for a small party last week however the thing is a pain to clean since the liner doesn't come out. I probably won't use it again. Overall happy with this crock-pot :) It gets the job done. ... show more

  • Great "Count-Down" Feature
We needed a new Crock-pot, and there are a plethora of them out there. After looking at many options, I decided on this one and it works great for our needs. Not too large and not too small, it works for our cooking style and the count-down timer is a great feature that works well. We do meals during the day, but what is really nice is to set the timer for overnight while we make beef or chicken stock and let it simmer for a very long time without worry or attention. The only small drawback to this package is the little "dipper". It heats well for gravies and sauces, but because the "crock" inside is NOT removable, it is difficult to clean because, with the electrical element, it cannot be submerged in water. It is a pain, but it is not the main point of this review. We like the Crock-pot and the way it performs. ... show more

  • UPDATE: Turned a year old, and said, "Adios amiga!"
UPDATE: So glad to report that after trying my slow cooker a few days later it worked beautifully. Clearly, this was most likely a 'surge ISSUE". So forget everything I said, and know this is worth the money! I purchased this item a year ago; and, USED it on average, once a week. Today, after a year, the heating element died. As usual, I set the timer, and on returning 30 minutes later realized the unit lights were off. I tried plugging it into other outlets to no avail. Soooo, I guess I have a crock bowl. I never found a use for the little side container. Needless to say, in spite of it performing beautifully, I will not buy this brand again. Even, if I was the 'lucky' person to get a defected unit, I am used to buying products that last far longer than a year. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Nice size, simple to use
I was looking for a lead-free ceramic slow cooker and this fits the bill. Nothing fancy, easy to use

  • Why didn't I get this before!
I ordered the Crock-Pot 6-Quart version with programmable features for about $27.99. It was probably the best possible I had seen among other websites. So onto the cooking, my first meal I cooked was a chicken soup mixed with pasta, I threw all my ingredients into the pot in the morning and then ran off to work. Fast forward to the evening coming back home from work the time I had set for it to cook for was perfectly executed and my dinner was pretty good for the first time in a crock pot.I may not recommend pasta being left in there for too long as they don't require too much time to cook. Overall my thoughts on this are "Why haven't I thought about getting this years ago!" It saves me tremendous amount of time. If the price is your only concern then you could save it in your cart and wait for the price to drop. But I'd say its definitely worth more than $27. ... show more

  • LOVE IT
Got this from Amazon around black Friday/cyber Monday for $29.99. I'd never used a slow cooker before I bought this. I've been using it for freezer meals. I just take my stuff straight from the freezer in the morning, and dump it all in, set it for 6-8 hours depending on the food and it does everything else for me! Truly an amazing product. I use mine with liners to make clean up faster and because I'm lazy. I have NO COMPLAINTS about this slow cooker and I'm extremely happy I bought it. I have had no problems with the warm setting boiling my food. Although it may seem that way at first when it first switches over from the cook temp to the warming temp. My food is not dry or tough to chew. No lid rattling (and I don't pull my liners up over the sides either, I semi loosely twist the liner together at the top like a hair bun and put the lid on. This way the liner is not touching the lid at all or the outside). The cord length is just fine with me and I actually haven't even taken the twist tie off the cord either because its the perfect length for the section of counter top that I'm using it on as it is. I initially bought the Reynolds liners to use with this but they are expensive considering how often I use my crock pot. And after reading the reviews on these liners (and the price! :D ) I decided to try them out. They are WONDERFUL as well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KERJ4Q?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_21 ... show more

  • I love this thing.
It's an upgrade for us from the classic little blue flower cookers you find on goodwill shelves. We are really happy with this unit. It cooks really thoroughly and the timer function that switches to warm after cooking is completed has been a life saver when we're busy. It's not flashy or full of buttons but I ask you... what are you looking for? If a simple cooker that does the job is on the list, you should pick this up. If you want tons of features this isn't your cooker. ... show more
