  • Great Item but pricey
I bought this item under the used section at Amazon and got it for $110. For that price this thing is fantastic. It is easy to use and for what little you need the instructions, they are easy to understand. I use this mostly for putting titles on my scrap book pages. It is nice because you can choose the colors you want rather than buying generic black letters. The titles are cute, but I could not justify paying full price just to use this for letters. ... show more

  • Not so sure how I feel about this machine...
I like the Cricut concept and I do think their machines can do cool things. However, I'm not a fan of the company. They don't seem to provide much readily available information about their products, including simple instructions on how to use it. I've found that whenever I have a question there is no point in looking in the manual that comes with each cartridge because the only want to find an answer is to spend hours searching online in forums and crafter blogs. I tried emailing the company once with a question and it took them days to respond and then their answer was inaccurate. It's starting to seem like the hassel of learning how to work this system is not worth the trouble but we'll see. I feel that the product is capable of much more than they are willing to show us. ... show more

  • So easy a first grader can do it
I bought the Cricut Personal Cutting Machine primarily for my daughter and granddaughter who are scrapbooking together. It will live at my daughter's house, but it will be available to me when I need it. (I make greeting cards.) I easily taught my granddaughter, who is a first-grader, to use the system with adult supervision. We agreed she should tie back her long hair for safety and keep fingers clear of the working parts. With my help and supervision, she was quickly selecting shapes and sizes and cutting the shapes she wanted. She understood the use of the shift key and also the creative features. We won't let her use the system alone until she is quite a bit older, but the user interface and operation of the machine is very simple once the machine is set up. My granddaughter was so enthusiastic about her experience that she wanted to be the one to teach her mother how to use it. We all love the Cricut. ... show more

  • reference machine
... show more

  • Not a good buy for daycare and school projects
I bought this because I saw the great reviews on it, but I regret my decision. I work at a daycare center where cutout tools like these are very useful. However this took up more time than tracing and cutting it by hand. There are multiple reasons why I do not like this product 1. The paper pad looses it's stickiness within 5- 6 uses. 2. You always have to hold down the paper to have it cut better. However even holding it down does not ensure a proper cut. 3. It takes multiple attempts and a lot of time to try to get it to cut correctly even when I try playing with the settings to lower pressure or speed. 4. It takes up a lot of paper for a couple of letters because the spaces between each letter is too wide. For anyone planning to use this heavily for bulletin boards and daycare centers, I do not recommend this machine. It has been more of a hindrance than it has been helpful. ... show more

  • Good Cricut for the price!
For the price this is a good Cricut. This is the first machine I purchased and I like it. It is easy to use and even tho small does what I wanted it to do. The price is certainly right. I do suggest buying extra cutting pads, you will go thru these quickly if you use it alot. I thought about the 12x12 but really I could not justify the price for a beginner at the cricut!! This one works just great. ... show more

  • Cricut 29-0001
Bought this for my grandaughter who is 10 yrs.old we have used it to cut & also purchased the markers to make signs.Very pleased with its performance using both. She can do school projects plus she loves to craft.Easy to use I told her once how to cut with it and she was off on her own. When she wanted to use the markers I told her to take the blade out & replace it with the marker & she was off & running again.I would buy extra blades if I were you because they will dull if you use your machine alot.Great machine for so many things wish I had one when I was in school doing science fairs.Shipping was also quicker than I thought it would be. I ordered on a thurs. & received it that following mon. ... show more

  • The Cricut Cutter
I ordered the personal cutting machine because I didn't want it to take up a lot of room and wanted to be able to move it easily. I am a preschool teacher and scrapbooker and this product has been wonderful. I love how easy it is to use, my 5 year old can use it with ease. I can move it back and forth between my preschool and my home with no problems. I think you get a lot for the money and look forward to buying more cartridges. ... show more
