It worked great for the first couple weeks but the opening in the front, could be fully closed. My dog was able to pull the front down and chew up a shoe still. If you're looking for something your dog can drink through, keep searching, this is not it, even though it says it is. Two of my dogs are highly reactive, getting worse as they are getting older (9 and 10 years old) and they displace their aggression toward each other when they cannot get to the dog, cat, plastic bag or leaf that had the audacity of showing up in their field of vision. That means no walking them together, no keeping them in the same room when I am not home, constant supervision when they are together in the yard etc... I had given up on finding a muzzle until their last fight broke my finger and sent their blood flying all over my room, I still don't know what started it, it was 4 AM and everyone should have been asleep. These just seemed more humane and easier to deal with and THEY ARE!! One dog has a very long muzzle so he got the large, the other pointy but shorter muzzle so he got the medium. This is a slip on and buckle behind the ears muzzle made of breathable mesh which is ideal for Florida weather. There is no hard rubber to irritate them, nothing that will hurt if they bang their head and best of all, no matter how hard they try, they can't remove it but let it be known that they got used to it in minutes, just drop a really delicious small treat in the whole and praise them for keeping it on. We went for a ride in the car, one dog trampled the other and what would have normally escalated into a blood bath to the death ended up with no reaction because I think they quickly realized that even growling was pointless. Of course, they got high praise for not getting unruly and we went on our ride. What was surprising is that once we got home, they didn't attempt to have them taken off until they tried to get water and that just doesn't work. There is no way for them to stick their tongue out to get a drink. It might be possible for them to plunge their whole snout into a bowl of water but if they don't do it naturally, I won't be forcing it and this will stay at a personal rating of 4.2 because they cannot drink through it naturally. ... show more

Had to buy one of these because my 14 y/o pit-bull had a disagreement with a neighbors dog, My complex made me have her muzzled while on the property. At first she hated it, would not even walk around just stood there and gave me the evil eye! After a few times, she got more comfortable with it, she is able to breathe easy and smell and even drink water. We kept telling he how cute it made her look, (not sure she bought that) but eventually it just became part of our going out routine. Easy and quick to put on, I got the black one, we thought pink might draw attention to it and she is a bit self conscious. Have tried several soft muzzles for my dog and this one has been the best for allowing your him enough room to comfortably pant, he can also drink water while wearing it. I find it does stay on well but he has slipped it off his head on his own a couple of times by finding something in the house that he can snag the back strap on to pull it off his head and off his face, but we only use the muzzle with him while he is being monitored only when all the dogs are together so it's never been much of a worry. It has prevented him from having the ability to nip and bite back when my other much smaller dog has incited his reaction, which previously before the muzzle, did result to terrible dog fights with my smaller dog who suffered the majority of the consciences, leading to pricey vet visits. Love this muzzle! We have three so we have a clean one on hand. They wash easily too. It's helped make peace in our home and we have always made his wearing it a very positive thing for him so he's always very willing to help us when we put it on him. ... show more

Does your dog try to eat everything off the ground when you take him/her out? This will stop it. Easy to put on and easy for your dog to breathe and drink. Comfortable, lightweight and adjustable. Only thing is that my dog still barks even with the muzzle on.
