I am amending my original scathing review of this catio. I was very upset and angry after assembling this catio and let my fingers speak for me. I would like to state that now that catio is assembled and in use, it's a sufficient product but I would like to make comments for future purchasers so they know what they MIGHT face. We found that many of the pieces did not have pilot holes drilled and some that did, didn't line up properly. This was obviously just an error in manufacturing, but please make sure to check the holes before you start assembly and modify as necessary. Also as other reviewers stated, the screws that were provided were an incorrect size. They were too large in diameter and would not fit in the pre drilled holes properly, which required use of a power drill for insertion. The instructions say to not use a power drill however that was impossible at least for the kit we received. Some of the wood was very warped and some modification was needed and we will have to reinforce some of the shelves to accommodate our larger (14 pound) cat. The roof also needed additional support. That being said, this catio will work for my 3 cats for at least a year or two I expect. Living in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State USA) we get 6 months of rain a year so we will definitely coat this catio in wood protecting weather treatment. I am amending my review because of the excellent customer service I received from COZIWOW. I emailed them immediately after assembly and voice my complaints. I have had excellent communication from them and they expressed sincere regret that I had such difficulties. We are working on a resolution that will be desirable to both parties. This kind of excellent customer service is hard to find these days and I greatly appreciate this company for theirs. I think other reviews have said this. Best out there? Not by far. Best for the price? Sure. Here's my experience. 1) I think the instructions said it's a 30 min assembly (sorry if I'm mistaken). Definitely not. Took me 3 hrs one person. The wood is light enough that one taller person can do this by themselves. Maybe could get it down to 1 hr solo once you know how it goes together. Note also that they say not to use a drill. No way you could put this together in 30 min even with past experience using a screw driver. Just set your drill to ratchet out at a low setting. The wood is pretty soft. 2) Instructions leave a lot to be desired. Pictures, not words, so study them closely. I had to redo a couple pieces. 3) Some parts mislabeled or unlabeled. Two 1's mislabelled as 8's, and two other pieces not labelled at all. That added to the time and redos. Some pilot holes missing. I'd probably buy it again just given the price, but honestly, would pay a little more for something sturdier. One piece split immediately after assembly. Roof could be better too. Molding all around would be nice, and a better way to overlap the shingles to avoid leaks. As for my ratings above is was moderately easy to assemble for reasons above. Definitely wouldn't call it sturdy. Wood splits if you try to move it around at all. Dropped one of the roof pieces on one of the platforms and broke the platform. A partcularly fat cat or dog would break them. Kind of thought the door would be bigger. Enough to walk in and out. Should've checked. It's not. A design with a full-height door would be excellent. In terms of "warmth", I'm not sure why amazon is even asking for that rating. It's an open-air cage. No expectation of warmth. ... show more

After reading many reviews before it came I was prepared for some modification. We put it against a window, so we removed one panel and configured it differently. We had to add one cinderblock and three inch cap to get it to cover the window opening. Use electric screwdriver not drill. The shelves are too flimsy for the big cats I have, so we replaced three of the shelves with actually shelves that were 1/2 inch and we covered the remaining three with carpet staple gunned so the cats don’t slip off. They have evidently improved the product, as many reviews say the roof did not go on well or was sagging. Mine came with two roof supports and two roof wood seams. Mine is under an overhang, so I am not worried about leaking anyway. It took two of us 3 hours to put together and you have to be careful as they did not give instructions for the steps to put together the back or front really it just took some figuring out. So a few tips! The little screw driver that comes with it won’t do a damn thing! It says not to use power tools, but unless you’re the hulk, you’re gonna need to use a power screwdriver lol. Just lower the tork. I advise using clamps to keep wood in the proper place when screwing pieces together. I basically put this together all by myself and needed a 2nd person (my 10 yr old daughter) for the final few steps. Took about 3-4 hours. It’s sturdy for what I need it for currently (a juvenile iguana) but as he gets bigger, I will likely need to reinforce it. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase! It’s worth the money! My husband isn’t thrilled with this monstrosity, but he’ll get over it lol. It’s VERY large! ... show more
