For $289, I really wasn't expecting much but after over 3 months, I finally decided to hook this baby up. Of course they don't tell you that it takes a minimum of of a 27" window,(All mine are around 24). A little measuring and a hacksaw took care of that. When I turned it on I was very surprised on how much air was coming out of the device. I am thinking of buying an extra one just to have a standby and I only do that if I am really impressed. A strong fan and very cold air that cools my room quickly....what else can I say except it is much more quiet than the 5000 btu air conditioner I have in my bedroom. We bought the Costway 10,000 for our Living Room/kitchen/dining area and it did amazing…it did so well we bought the Costway 12,000 to replace the unit in the living room and moved the living room unit to the back of the house. When I tell you these units COOL DOWN your house…I MEAN it and it’s quiet…doesn’t sound like a jet engine. We are in South Louisiana with temps ranging from 105-107 and 120 on the heat index with the humidity. Our AC unit for the house is struggling and our electric bill is astronomical. These 2 units are keeping our house cooler than our AC. I’ll be buying smaller Costway units for bedrooms and for our camper. You cannot go wrong with this brand. I highly recommend it. ... show more

I bought this AC because the reviews showed that it was great for a small single room. My sons room is not too large, but this AC unit calls his room, and if I leave the door open, cause the hallway and into the living room. It is quiet compared to other units that I've gotten before work great and easily to install. I had two LG coolers, each of which lasted two summers. The first just quit cooling, the second one would freeze despite having a clean filter. They were also expensive, $350 each. I decided to get a different brand, and found this one. The reviews are justifiably good, and this unit cost 1/2 of the price of the LG. Does not come with directions in Spanish but does in other languages. Has a ritual of what needs to be done when it defrosts. Too complicated
