When delivered, it’s about 32-inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. Cat Palm arrives in a 9.25-inch décor pot. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. Cat Palm is generally a slow grower, depending on environment and care provided. Boost growth in spring and summer with a fertilizer labeled for potted plants following the product’s instructions. When Cat Palm outgrows its current container, repot by gently removing it from its container and placing it in a 2-inch wider container. Fill with potting mix and water thoroughly. I ordered two palms and both arrived beautifully; however, after about one month of having them, they became completely infested with spider mites. I went through multiple bottles of insect repellent and eventually had to just give up as it became a lost cause. I thought I must have irresponsibly done something wrong until I came to the reviews and found that dozens of others have had problems with plants from Costa being infected with spider mites upon arrival. ... show more

I ordered this one along with the Money Tree. Whatever is happening with the Money Tree is NOT happening with this one! It's big, healthy and gorgeous! I will def buy more from Costa Farms.

    • Beautiful & Healthy Planet
This is the 3rd large plant I've purchased from Costa Farms. The large money tree plant arrived 3 days early. The box was caved in on one side. Unfortunately the plant suffered minor damage compared to what could have happened due to Costa Farms superb packing and there were only a few broken stems/ leaves. I am currently awaiting a large pony tail palm that should have been here by Christmas but seems to have been sent by back to UPS because of delivery issues. If it arrives alive it will be a miracle. Costa Farms has beautiful healthy plants...so have no fears purchasing from them on line. I will order more from them. ... show more

This beautiful plant was packed with care. The box was smooshed and damaged when it arrived thanks to UPS, but the plant was well packed and protected. It was in excellent condition despite the rough shipping.

I received this about six weeks ago. I usually love the plants I buy from Costa Farms, but this one hasn’t met my expectations. The foliage isn’t evenly dispersed around the plant. About a quarter of it looks normal but on the other sides it looks like it was grown so that it didn’t have enough room to flourish and the stalks are all tall so that the plant leans back over to the normal quarter. I thought to myself “OK challenge accepted” and I positioned it in front of a window with direct southern exposure and all day sunshine so that it would grow towards the sunshine. I also shimmied the underneath of the pot so that the existing stalks were perpendicular to the floor and have tried to slowly remove the layers of the shimmy to slowly let it learn which way was straight up. I guess I need a whole lot more time because it is looking a little worse than when I unpacked it from the box. My last complaint is that it came with a bunch of those tiny fruit fly like bugs and those are killing my other plants so I have had to remove them from the window where they were previously thriving. Normally I love Costa Farms plants and they usually grow well with no problems but this one is not doing that well and it is either because of me or the plant and I don’t know what else to do with it. I would not buy this one again. Plants do make you life better, buy them often! Happy growing to all! Update to my review: The really interesting thing is these are in fact spider mites that have infested this plant. I have 8 plants total and the ones I got from Home Depot locally and Ikea locally have no spider mites. Both of the other ones that I got, which are money trees, that I got from Costa Farms have been heavily infected with the spider mites from the Cat Palm and one of them looks like it is about to die from it. I have taken action to save both. They were both healthy and beautiful before receiving this Cat Palm. I cannot figure out why the other Costa Farms ones are the only other plants that got infected. Now I am leery of buying from Costa Farms again. I don't know that I have the skills to keep them all alive and get rid of the spider mites. ... show more
