The entire set is very light and while it feels delicate, holds up very well to daily life. My parents always used a lightly designed set of Corelle and wanted them. The small plates were slightly smaller than I was expecting and definitely a snack size, but the bowls and dinner plates are perfect. I may just see about adding some dinner plates to compensate. My parents have had Corelle dinnerware since before I was born. The plates last a lifetime. They are lightweight, versatile, and beautiful. I bought more plates because it was such a great deal and wanted a full set for entertaining. So, these might not be new. The bottoms of the plates show signs of wear. That being said, they are also about half the price than what I find them for elsewhere. I wanted white dishes because I have a lot of serving pieces that I recently inherited. Those pieces look great on a table together, but I haven’t found dishes that go with them. Finally had the opportunity to get these simple white dishes. I was especially happy the set did not include the, (in my case), un-wanted cups and saucers. I love the set of 12 place settings, but discovered that the bread plate was actually too small to double as a lunch plate. It does work as a very nice sized dessert plate though. So I bought the lunch plates separately and now have a wonderful set of dishes capable of handling all the family holiday meals. Corelle is easy to use, clean and store. It's light weight, which I very much appreciate, but it's still incredibly durable. The set I replaced was also Corelle, and I used it for 30 years! It survived two batches of kids, not to mention my 'klutzy' self, and now has been passed on to live another life full of activity and children. I expect this new set will do as well. ... show more

I grew up with these, and now I have my own set. They are extremely durable and lightweight. They fit well in the dishwasher because they're not too deep/don't have a wide lip. This is great because they take up almost no room in the cabinets, and if I have 12 people over, I can easily fit all their dishes in the dishwasher. Easy for kids to pick up/hold too. These were our first set of plates in ten years. We had IKEA ones that we loved but started to break and chip. We like these but didn’t expect how hot these get when microwaved. This set had all the pieces I was interested in. It was delivered on time and was packaged well. I shopped around for the best price and this WAS the best price and value! The dishes look great on any setting, casual or formal. The dishes fit in my dishwasher easily and are microwave safe. Just be careful when removing from the microwave.
