Bought this for winter chicken coop protection and it is holding up well so far (through at least one extended deluge, a windstorm with 60 mph gusts, and now below freezing temps). The grommets are satisfactory, not exceptional, but have functioned well, anchoring via short bungees to cup hooks on the coop's four corners. The tarp itself is heavy, large enough that it overhangs front, back and sides (I added four extra rooftop "rafters" atop the roof before tarping) so it provides extra insulation from winds as well as rain; a bit of overhang above the front entry door and back cleanout panel; and nest box extension coverage. With this tarp plus the clear plastic window covers and the (4) girls' own body heat, they are snug and their water has not frozen at 27° F - though we'll see what happens if we hit 10-12° this year. So far, so good and this looks like it was worth the extra expensefor this tarp! ... show more

    • Heavy Duty, just what I needed

I bought these tarps to basically encapsulate a room addition that has rotten exterior walls and a soggy flat roof until I can have it re-built next Summer. These 16 mil tarps are HEAVY and THICK, with substantial rolled edges and reinforced grommets. I feel they are excellent quality, and will be an effective shield from all the rain and occasional snow we get here in WA. I had to order a couple of different sizes in order to effectively cover the irregularly shaped building, and it took a lot of effort to spread them out and move them into position being they are so heavy and stiff, but now I am confidant they will do the job so that I don't need to worry about that room this Winter! The only negative about any of this is the sizes offered in white, which is why I did a "patchwork" of them in different sizes. Hurricane Ian ruined our first tarps when 100+ mph winds ripped them to shreds off the tubular Quonset Hut protecting our boat. We purchased the Core Tarps Extreme Heavy Duty 20 Mil Tarp Cover, Waterproof, UV Resistant, Rip and Tear Proof to cover the tubular structure that measures 20' long by 12' across. The Core Tarp was trimmed and stretched to fit. The heavy material makes for a strong covering that we're very happy to report withstood the 40+ mph winds we just experienced from Tropical Storm Nicole. Highly recommended. ... show more

I can't speak to durability yet because I've only used it 2 days now. But, this seems to be a really nice, sturdy, quality tarp. I specifically wanted one that is waterproof not just water resistant and I can tell this will be. I am using it to cover a trailer for the winter and protect the wood floor. It is sturdy material but isn't.so stiff that you can't easily work with it. It actually seems to be a far nicer material than any cheap plastic tarp I've owned in the past. I purchased a few of these to help cover our wood racks. They seem to be nice and sturdy, and will hopefully last several years, while keeping our wood dry. I like the dual colors as well. Still natural colors, but if you want to help dry your wood faster, just switch it to the black side out.

We ordered this tarp and when it arrived we were surprised to find it contained 2 tarps. We thought we were only getting one tarp. It installed well. It is covering our camper. I ordered a 30’X40’ tarp in the 10 mil and it didn’t do very well in the first mediocre wind storm. Had it for about 2 weeks and the grommets just don’t withstand much. Seems like a good tarp but grommets are a problem.
