This chainsaw was just what I needed. It’s a couple more inches than the 6” ones out and it’s not bulky at all. I have Dewalt batteries so it was easy to reuse my tool system and I did not have to get another set of chargers. This is a sturdy saw and I have zero quality issues whatsoever. I use vegetable oil for the lube tank, I adjust the chain tensioner and I don’t push the blade, just let the cutter do the work. Pruned 6 apple trees and a fir tree with branches 2 to 4 inches diameter - slicker than snot! Pretty sturdy plastic with 2 chainsaw blades and it has an oiler so it should make the chain and bar last longer. It Made my pruning job so much easier! Why didn't I get this sooner?

This 6” “chain saw” would not retain chain tension no matter how tight when cutting started. Saw would not cut through 1/2” Rose of Sharon branches without chain coming out of track on bar. Did not perform as expected.

    • Too hard to maintenance and clean.

Out of the box started with a project added oil does not come with so have bar and chain oil. My real issue came after I finished a project. The way they saw it set up the guts get clogged with material very quickly. And bog the saw up. This all requires a socket a Philips screwdriver to remove. Putting this thing back together it can be more complicated than it needs to be. I also think it would be smarter than to put a loop on the back of the connector for the battery there's a perfect little spot for it to be able to hang this off a hip. ... show more

This works great for cutting smaller branches or lumber. For the price, the saw seems to be a good value if you already own DeWalt cordless tools and have the batteries. I have another saw like this one but this one has the handle and makes it a bit more safe to use and just feels better when cutting. It's not DeWalt quality but it's also less expensive than a DeWalt. We'll see how long this lasts but for occasional use, I think it will be around a while. ... show more
