So I bought this sprayer to paint the outside of my house which is stucco. I bought Sherwin Williams exterior paint. This was the first time using a sprayer. So it says to diluted (thin out)the paint. So I asked the paint store what to use? They said water ok. I came home and the instructions say between 30 to 55 seconds using the viscosity meter. The paint is thick like no other. After many many times adding 2oz of water to a gallon which took me about 2 1/2 hours to get it to around seconds which came out to 42oz of water to one gallon. I was skeptic about how well it would look. Well low and behold it was totally fine!! I ended up doing 3 coats of paint to make up for thinning the paint. So yes I had to fill the canister alot! and filter the paint. But it wasn't to bad. I thinned the paint and filtered it 2 gallons at a time the night before and it was already to use the next day. The sprayer worked great! And cleans up easy. I took a wet rag and scrubbed it down after each use it still looks and runs like new! The light weight and easy set up and care is perfect for when you're doing small jobs multiple places. The adjustment for your spray setting moves easier than id like. My Milwaukee batteries also are a little loose on the connection. Over while using it worked well with the type of paint I was using and after a few adjustments it gave me the desired Finish on my jobs. Would recommend for someone wanting to save money on a sprayer when you carry Milwaukee Makita or DeWalt batteries. They are available for all three compatibilities. ... show more

    • It doesn’t work. :(
We purchased this for our small painting project after reading the reviews. It doesn’t work as a paint sprayer when used with a typical indoor or outdoor paint. If you are using extremely thin viscosity paint (ie: water-thin), it should work fine. What it did for us is to increase the project budget by about $46. It works so poorly, it makes one wonder how this tool gets so many good reviews. ... show more

Sprays OK, but goes through batteries very quicky. I have 4 batteries and they all lasted about 30 minutes.

I've painted professionally for years. I had an exterior door to paint and thought I'd try one of these cordless sprayers. It was delivered on time, easy to setup, worked great with my Milwaukee M18 battery, and laid down the paint nicely. It takes some time to get familiar with what tips work best with each product, and thinning paint to proper viscosity. The filters in the package are very cheap and flimsy, so get something better before you start mixing. Cleanup is quick. I will continue to use it and post later after a few more jobs, but it did great on the first one and has already paid for itself. ... show more

    • Might be good for staining a fence but not much else.
This sprayer works with the battery fine but the spray pattern is probably more suited for staining a fence. If you need any kind of detailed spray without splatter, my experience was not very good with this unit.
