  • Review using Stamps.com
Style: RE418
I use Stamps.com to print shipping labels, basic account. Prior using 8x11 2 labels per sheet with HP Instant Ink max cost could be 17¢ per label if I was over my Instant Ink print quota. With the Comer = 2.7¢ 4x6 label. Comer in my experience is printing 60 labels per minute. I'm using 4x6 Comer rolls, 350 labels per roll. Comer notes to set the printer format to 100mmx150mm or 4x6 label. I tried that on Stamps.com and it would not print correctly. Mess. Than I found the printer setting at the top of address fields and chose 4x6 Roller. Worked Perfect. Very Fast. Couple of annoyances: 1. Printer Driver Win10 is set to call the Comer "RE418" a part number? I went into devices / printer properties and changed it to "Comer Label Printer", worked fine no issue renaming it. It does not come with any dedicated label software, however any Office365 app can be set to replicate 4x6 labels, including Excel. Likely their is some freeware label software out in the Inter-webs if needed. I did go into Comer printer properties and changed the density from default setting of 8, to 12. Max is 16. At 12 it printed darker and clearer with no printing speed loss. With Amazon clip coupon I paid $99. Half the price of other "XL" label printers. This is a no brainer of a bargain and its a speedy work horse, that works flawlessly. Just in case I did order a 10FT USB A cable to from Amazon $8, the one that came with it measured 5FT, and I needed 8. Unless you need some dedicated label printing software and you don't have Office or freeware label software, then you might consider another option. Highly recommended from an initial skeptical perspective, this is winner. ... show more

  • I bought this as a travel machine to augment my name-brand thermal printer
Style: RE418
Overall, I am very pleased with it. I do prefer my name-brand printer because the print quality is quite a bit crisper (a difference in the dpi) but this is legible, packages are scanned and arrive just fine, so I'm happy to have something that I can travel with. It's durable, easily portable, was easy to install, and is super easy to use. Satisfied customer. ... show more

  • Poor knock-off of Dymo
Style: RE418
First off, the machine absolutely refuses to recognize 4x6 as a valid label size, if you're printing standard shipping labels this is the size you are using it will do 4x5 or 4x6.5 not very helpful. You can setup the size manually in the settings and no matter what you do the bottom half of your label will be cut-off, you know that small unimportant part that contains the barcode and tracking numbers. The machine also has an awesome feature, if it's out of paper or miss-feeds it beeps louder than a smoke detector. This will "feature" will be super awesome when I print to it remotely on a weekend, it runs out of paper and the entire office building gets to hear it going off non-stop. Let's get to the print quality, well it kinda prints, it's 1/4 the quality of a name brand Dymo. All in all if you want to print labels, buy anything else. ... show more

  • Ready to use. Easy to set up
Style: RE418
The printer is very easy to set up even for someone with no prior experience. The unit has a very long power cord allowing you to set it up in any space . Sturdy rugged construction. I am very pleased with this printer and how quickly my ship labels print. Even though it is a lesser known brand I am glad iI purchased the printer and consider it a great deal and solid upgrade from my previous zebra printer. ... show more

  • Printer works well
Style: RE418
I have a small business where I sell items on ebay and a few other websites. I had previously used 8.5x11" pieces of paper cut down and taped on packages for shipping, which is a cumbersome option. The Comer label printer addresses my primary concerns for this purpose. Paper is affordable, with the name brand labels costing 0.02-0.03 each, and generics being available for even less. There is some flexibility in the paper which the printer can use, it is not restricted to a single design. The printer is also very fast, and is able to print in bulk far more efficiently than my needs require. It is also much quieter than my other printer. While not a flaw, I would warn people that the device beeps loudly 3 times in a row when first plugged in. This is to bring attention to the fact there is no paper in the device. ... show more

  • Fantastic little machine for small businesses!
Style: RE418
I absolutely love this thing! Instead of waiting for my poor printer to finish up printing, then cutting out labels, taping them on and ensuring that the tape is actually holding on I can slap on a thermal label on move on. In just two days this thing has already saved me roughly two hours of time. I didn't use the included USB and instead downloaded the drivers straight from the website and had this up and running in about 5 minutes. I absolutely recommend it! ... show more

  • REVISED REVIEW: This Works Well. Would Buy Again.
Style: RE418
So— as per my first review— thermal labels do not come with this printer. But, once a roll is inserted the printing works well. It prints quickly and cleanly. If I have any quality criticism it would be that the contrast is slightly low. Nevertheless, this was a sound investment. The process of paying for and printing a label is pretty much seamless through eBay. Through UPS and USPS it's a bit cumbersome. Several more steps are required through these services, which is not unexpected, but tedious. And, while eBay and UPS are working just fine, USPS is somehow preventing me from printing labels— for over a week, now! (Even after four customer service calls, and six representatives, including three tech troubleshooting experts, there is no resolution.) Of course, that's not the fault of the printer, but it's evidently a glitch in the USPS system which can shut you down real fast. That is something useful to know. Also, the software, while functional, is not quite as easy to set up as what you may have become used to these days, but it isn't difficult. Ultimately, it works. All in all, I am happy with this thermal printer, and would buy again. ... show more
