I was not expecting that there would be so short a cable on the winch. Build seems decent and mechanism is smooth. I can see using it more as a lift hoist as the cable is annoyingly short for winching. The other thing is that the racheting mechanism is on one side so I would be afraid of it spreading apart under load. The more I looked at it I wanted to send it back but didn't get around to it. I will use it in place of a chain winch when I need to adjust things. For this it will be better than dealing with a loop of chain dangling in my work. ... show more
