  • Fantastic value and fantastic comfort
Style: Military Camping Cot
We made the switch from popup trailer camping back to tent camping this year, which came with the added joys of needing to arrange for comfortable sleeping arrangements. I'm a VERY finicky sleeper, in that I side-sleep and need to be comfortable. I've had bad experiences in the past on cots with extra-taught fabric across the small of the back, weak frames that bend when/where they shouldn't, and unnecessarily large size when folded. The reviews for this were great however, so I figured we couldn't go wrong trying. The $40 price was anywhere from $15-40 cheaper than most other options as well. That said: 1) They're heavy. Since these are almost certainly going to be purchased by car campers, that shouldn't be any concern. It also translates into a sturdy frame that won't (shouldn't) ever bend unless a sumo wrestler lays down on it. 2) Assembly is non-technical and easy enough to do, although using leverage to get the second end-strut on is required. Disassembly is just as non-technical, and leverage is required to get the first end-strut off. The "difficulty" that some reviewers complain of translates into a frame that won't fall apart when you're sleeping on it however, so would you prefer something you have to worry about, or something that's sturdy that also requires you use a little bit more effort to disassemble? It comes with a tidy and relatively small carry bag that helps with storage as well. 3) Comfort: this has NO extra-taught fabric or support across the small of the back, which translates into an even sleeping surface. I placed a 3-inch thick inflatable sleeping pad I purchased on Amazon on it, and found that I was VERY comfortable while sleeping. I'd hoped I'd simply sleep well not to wake up hurting. I slept GREAT. The first night the plug on my inflatable mattress accidentally popped out, causing the pad to deflate. I slept for the remaining 3 hours on the cot itself and was still ok. This is a great cot that costs less than almost anything else out there. It'll even make a great spare "bed" for the kids' friends during sleepovers. I'm extremely well pleased. ... show more

  • Very sturdy

  • Sturdy, Good value, but too heavy for most of the camping that I do.
Style: Military Camping Cot
This cot is sturdy, and strong and just big enough for me to sleep on it comfortably. I'm 5'10" and 250 pounds and it handles my weight. It is very heavy and so it cannot be backpacked to a campsite, but it's useful for tent camping at state parks and the like. It also comes in handy as a spare bed at home for a visiting teenager. Most old people are going to want to use a foam or air mat on it. Overall, I think it was worth the money. I wish it weighed less and that is the only reason for deducting a star. ... show more

  • Fantastic
Style: Military Camping Cot
This camping cot is a solid upgrade over the Walmart version. Both support 300 lbs, but this one is noticeably more durable and sits higher off the ground, making it easier to sit and get up. Setup is just as simple, but the heavy frame requires an adult to handle, preferably 2. Best for car camping due to its weight. Lay an extra blanket for warmth. Worth the few extra dollars! ... show more

  • A good sturdy cot
Style: Military Camping Cot
After needing to sleep in the tent several nights during our renovation, I vowed to get a cot of some sort. Most cots take up so much space and are very expensive. This cot folds down into it's own bag, and sets up in a straightforward manner. Please consider watching a video or two about how to set this up. There are some tips that make it a whole lot easier. This is not an instant-up cot. You have to put a few things together. So if you're taking it with you on a trip, do yourself a favor and practice. As a sleeping surface, it's very sturdy and not saggy, which is great for me. The height is great and very easy to stand up from. Not super low like some other cots. The cot when packed up is quite a bit of weight, but that's the sturdiness. ... show more

  • Exact dimensions, see photos
Style: Military Camping Cot
Would have ordered sooner, but exact dimensions were confusing in description and reviews. The fabric part of the cot that you lay on is exactly 74 5/8 long by 29 1/4 inches wide. The end bars that hold the cot stretched and stabilized are 35 1/4 inches long. That’s the confusing part, some give the width of the fabric, and others give the length of the bar ends. The bottom feet have a footprint of 30“ x 70“. Rounding out the dimensions, the cot fabric is close to 75”x 29“. This turned out to be a perfect size for a 3 1/2 inch self inflated, insulated mattress, extremely comfortable. The cot is sturdy and well-made. The fabric is as tight as a drum once the end bars are put in place. Like I said, the fabric is so tight, it was difficult to place the second bar in position. The first bar was very easy to assemble, the second end of the second bar was extremely difficult, both my wife and I could not summon the strength to get it in place. Using a 1 inch stock of round wood, it was very easy to pry it into position. I would highly recommend you use a piece of 1 in. square or round stock, or maybe a piece of three-quarter inch PVC to use to pry it into position. You can see in the third photo the prybar and some foam insulation I added to the end bars just to prevent any running into your shins like I did. Due to that virus, my wife has slept on the cot and mattress for one week and has found it as comfortable as our bed. The cot is worth the price and I would recommend. ... show more
