  • Dark Dreams
Style: 4-person
Very dark inside, easy to set up, and big enough for 3 people. If you use elevated sleeping cots, than you will only fit 2 people. The color is nice and the tent seems to be well built.

  • Yes, it's blessedly dark, but bad air flow -missed design opportunity
Style: 4-person
Set up by myself first time in 20 minutes. Directions on bag marginally helpful, really just took common sense. Meets expectation for the darkness to avoid that early morning sun, however Coleman should have done a better job for air flow by adding vents or some type of pull-away points on the middle areas of the rain-fly. The only screened windows are on the vestibule, meaning if you close the tent portion for privacy there is absolutely no airflow possible. I understand the primary tent is all screen, but the rain-fly hugs the frame with only a few inches of space. Even pulling the fly away with the cords made no noticeable difference with the vestibule and windows open into the tent itself. I set this up at noon on a mild 80° degree sunny day, temp inside exceeded mid-90s and was stuffy at peak sun exposure. Will probably add those midpoint pull-aways on the rain-fly myself using weather resistant Velcro along the sewn edge so as not to jeopardize the material integrity before heading out for camping. Quality appears good and does have electric cord access that is zippered and covered. Size-wise: 4-person tent is very tight for queen air mattress dimensions. Likely will have dew/condensation wetness as there is little to no surrounding space available when air mattress is placed. Vestibule is required for storage of bags/cooler. Rain/water exposure is currently unknown. ... show more

  • Awesome tent
Style: 4-person
This tent is great about keeping the majority of the light out, which is awesome if you like to sleep past daybreak. Easy to put up and take down. The dark technology does help with lowering the temperature inside as well

  • Spacious oh and great for migraines
Style: 4-person
The pictures are taken while drying it out from a weekend of camping. I got this for just myself to have more room to move about on BSA camping trips (a leader not a scout). I did take one picture of my setup inside during the trip. I had my sleeping bag, chair and tote all in the sleeping chambers and used the vestibule just as an entrance to collect dirt and such. Plenty of space I wasn't touching any of the sides nor were any of my belongings. I put the sleeping bag in the front to show that you can fit a person there as stated just make sure it's the smallest person. I was able to hang my fan/ light from a hook in the middle. I found there to plenty of net storage space. There's a net by the door so you can tuck the door in there when you have the 2 sides open or can be used for other storage. It was an 80 degree day and it still got warm and stuffy in there but I would say it probably would have been worse without the dark room. The dark room saved me, out of no where I was hit with a migraine and I was able to lay down in the middle of the day and be surrounded in darkness. It was a blessing so if you suffer from migraines get this tent just for that! You can see from pictures how bright it was outside and how dark it was inside. All the "windows" are covered up so if you want air circulation you will have to open the porch screens and keep your door open. I found I liked it just fine with no windows open and my battery fan circulating air. My only concern is that the poles are attached on the sides and I'm worried they will eventually wear down the sides of the tent they touch after repeated use of rolling the tent back up to store. I was able to set this up by myself with no problems. ... show more

  • Almost Blackout
Style: 6-person
We really needed to downsize our setup for the two nighters that we spend Catfishing. The blackout tent really intrigued me because we fish all night and sleep half the day. Also, we pitch camp pretty close to the water and there is usually no shade whatsoever. The rain fly lets in a little more light than I would like to see, and the tub definitely lets the light shine through. We can probably put enough crap around the edges on the floor to cover most of the tub part. There is plenty of space inside the main tent area for a queen mattress, clothing bags, dog crate, and misc. gear. Two people should be able to camp comfortably in this tent with plenty of room to move around. The porch idea is really cool but is pretty cramped for a couple of chairs, even small camping chairs. As you see in the photo, it's possible but the chairs pretty much have to face each other. Not too big of a deal, but another foot on the depth and this porch would be a winner. Unless the flaps on the doors are open, there is literally no airflow in the main room. This might be problematic on warmer nights. On our NTK tent, there are vents that you can open and windows on the rainfly that open as well, so if it's not raining you can get a nice breeze flowing through the tent. With this tent, you may want to make sure the nights are a little cooler before you spend any nights in it. There could be a couple more staking points at the base of the tent. In the last picture you can see that the tub is a little loose. Maybe it's supposed to be that way, I don't know. I have a feeling that if you get caught in a storm with some wind, the rain fly will blow up and let water in. I could be wrong and hope to not have to try it. Zippers are all pretty smooth but it does require two hands to unzip the front door. Also, the poles being attached to the tent for quick setup is pretty weird and I don't think that it helped in the time it took to set this thing up. It's almost just as simple to have the poles not attached, but we're used to setting up conventional tents. Overall, it's pretty simple to set up but still took us about 20 minutes to figure it out. The next time it will probably go up in 10 minutes or less. The way this tent is designed, I don't see it leaking in the rain unless there are pinholes that I don't see. Overall, I'm not exactly thrilled with the amount of light this tent lets in, but we'll live with it. This tent would be an easy 5 stars if it was darker and the porch part was about a foot deeper. Knowing what we know now, for the price I probably would not purchase this tent again. ... show more

  • Nice tent
Style: 4-person
Overall really nice tent. Easy to setup and very spacious inside. The little patio space before the actual entrance helps keep shoes and dirt outside of the sleeping area. My only complaint is that the unit i got seemed to be really old or was in storage for a long time because the rods already looked really worn out and scratched up even though the packaging was new. ... show more
