  • Fantastic resin. Works like a charm and even better than expected.
I saw a lot of reviews on this about how it doesn't set or it sets too fast or blah blah. They all have no idea what they're doing and it shows. Based on the problems people claimed to had, for the "not setting right" they were not mixing it enough, or they failed to scrape the sides and bottom of the cups. Or they measured the two parts incorrectly. Either way, they just needed to measure and mix it better. For the people that said it sets too fast to get anything done or whatever. This speeds up the more you heat it up. I used a heat gun one of the times I was casting things and it started to set almost twice as fast as normal. I was shocked how much of a difference heat made. Now that I know that though, I can use it to my advantage and speed up the process dramatically by heating it for a while. I think it's a big plus to have the option of fast or slow. Anyways, besides debunking all the claims that this stuff doesn't work right. I also want to say, this stuff is awesome. It barely smells which is great. It's a fairly easy to deal with viscosity. It takes color well. It casts fantastically. It makes crystal clear and rock solid creations. I bet it would be just as good as a doming resin as it is at casting. The price is right, and the product is fantastic. I haven't found anything better than this stuff yet and I've used a good handful of other resins now. This is the best. I recommend it highly. ... show more

  • Easy, Crystal Clear and Hard as a Rock
I’m a beginner, so was kind of skeptical. I used graduated measuring cups for the resin and hardener. Used 400ml of each (for a total of 800ml) and poured them into an empty, cleaned plastic container (hardener first then resin as per instructions). Used an old steel fork to stir slowly over 10 min. I then let it sit for 3 min and then poured it slowly. The container felt maybe a tad warm if at all. Did not use pigments. The pour was about 1/2” to max 3/4” thick. The next 4 hours few bubbles kept forming, which I burst using a toothpick. Over the next 13-14 hrs it hardened solid, clear, shiny and devoid of air bubbles. At 24 hrs it was rock solid. The room temperature was about 71-73F. I did not warm the mixture or use a heating lamp. Overall great success and experience, pleased with the product and I’ve already ordered more. Needless to say it is cheaper than their competitors. Patience is paramount with resins for a great result. ... show more

  • Excellent resin for beginners!
Great value for the price. I had zero issues and even with it measuring by volume (ie equal part to part), this resin was very forgiving and set up hard and clear. Excellent for beginners. Even tho it's inexpensive, this is not 'cheap' resin. Did a great job in larger suncatcher hearts and smaller rune tiles. Some hints to help with bubbling: Warm your resin before u begin to pour. Water bathing the jug works well. Add the resin to the hardener instead of vice versa Pour the resin into the hardener slowly. Stir slowlycounterclockwise to begin mixing and once u see striations beginning to clear, scrape bottom and sides and bring that into your stirring. Stir for a full 3 mins til clear and avoid 'dragging and dripping' your stirrer in and out of the mix as that creates bubbling. Let your cup of mixed resin/hardener sit for 2 mins to allow bubbles yo come up. U can hit the bubbles remaining w a heatgun or torch, but be aware that this may slightly accelerate your curing. At 30 mins, this epoxy is already on its way to initial set ... show more

  • The temperature & weather and places you use.the epoxy important.
The 1st time I did it in my basement it was cold raining and damp outside it didn't turn out so great it was still kind of sticky and it took a while for it to dry it rained like 3 days in a row. The 2nd time I did it it was bright warm and Sunny out and it dried quickly perfectly left no stickiness and had no issues. I recommend paying attention to the weather and pick a warm/ sunny day. and level area. Unfortunately my basement wasn't As loveless I thought it was. Use a level and check to make sure it's very easy to think that is leveled by looking at it and find out afterwards that it's not. So do check if it's level. Do beforehand.. So you don't have to fix anything like I Did. But overall it turned out great my granddaughter loved it and I'm very pleased with it wouldn't so pleased with all the work to check your temperature and make sure you have a level area. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Please note the piece in the video is not sanded down and buffed to a shine, its still raw and mishappened from the tape placed to raise the wall needed to cover Yoshi completely. Do not buy if your doing a clear resin piece The lower level of my video is the 1st resin used (different brand), kind of hard to see but the resin shows clear and I was satisfied but ran out of resin. the second half of the piece is this resin store resin (seen the great price and decided to try it) as you see there is way too many bubbles and very very cloudy and merky looking. Do not buy if your using acrylic paints to mix in your resin. When i put acrylic pink in one cup and acrylic white in the other, the resin got so hot I thought it was going to burst into flames, i quickly put the cups in cold water to cool it down but it was already hardening rapidly and within 30 minutes the resin was hard like it was already fully cured (total waste). The 3rd cup with only white pearlescent powder was fine and did not heat up. I dont know if the reaction was due to the acrylic or the fact that i used glow in the dark acrylic paint but either way the cup was so hot I could not hold it in my hands (note I used the glow in the dark and regular acrylic paints in many of my resin pieces and this never happened.) Overall - my opinion is that it is better to stick to the higher price items as I have wasted over half the bottle of this one and the only pieces that worked out were the ones that were colored and did not have acrylic paint in it. I tried other clear pieces by heating the resin to different temps before mixing and I could not eliminate the bubbles, even pouring right after mixing, the resin hardens too fast and I think thats why most bubbles cannot escape or be popped by a torch ... show more
