  • So far so good....
I have been using this iron for about 3 months now, with no leakage.

  • Chi iron
Not as good as advertised. Doesn’t get as hot as I need, not user friendly.

  • Chi iron
The good things: It’s beautiful to look at, has a nice weight, uses tap water, heats up quickly, gets very hot and emits lots of steam from all those little holes. I also like that it stays on for a good half hour before going into a standby mode. Two things that aren’t so good: It never completely turns off so it has to be unplugged to turn off. It does tend to spit at the beginning and end of the horizontal ironing position, so I’ve learned to keep it away from the fabric at those moments. I wish it didn’t have that fault, otherwise I would say it’s a perfect iron. ... show more

  • Love this iron
Love this iron but for some reason the very first time I try the self cleaning, it stops working. Maybe it was just an operator error for that. Great product.

  • Lots of steam but heavy
I am a quilter and needed an iron with nice weight and plenty of steam. This iron, so far, has met my expectations. This iron is heavy so may not be comfortable for anyone with arthritis. I don't have a problem even though I do have arthritis in my hands and wrist. I have been a loyal Rowenta iron use for years. My first Rowenta lasted 15 years, the second started leaking from the bottom within about 6 months of purchase. I put up with it for about 3 years until it absolutely flooded out all over my floor. I ordered the same model of Rowenta because it had massive amounts of steam, but when it arrived it would not steam at all. I returned it and have given up on Rowenta. I expect an iron that I pay about $90 for to last for years without problems. I am hoping this CHI iron will last for years without leaks or other problems. Update: After using this iron a lot every day for a couple of months, I have found that it is awkward to use. I'm not sure what makes it this way, perhaps not ideally balanced? It steams adequately but the ceramic soleplate doesn't glide over fabric like stainless steel does. Additionally, beware of getting something unknown on the soleplate. I do a lot of art quilts so use a lot of fusibles like steam-a-seam and glues. Apparently some adhesive was on my ironing surface that transferred to the iron. I have tried everything I can think of to get it off and still have a little residue stuck on the bottom that I cannot remove. I will go back to a stainless steel soleplate that can be cleaned thoroughly. ... show more

  • Love it but 3 irons have just stopped working
I absolutely love this iron. The water doesn’t leak from the tank and it produces lots of steam. The problem is I have now had 3 of these irons where they just wouldn’t turn on when plugged in. This has happened when the iron has been new. I’m a big seamstress & use my iron a lot, so it can be working one day & not the next. I need to find a new brand. ... show more

  • Seems to be Used
***UPDATE*** My apologies. I have changed my review from 2 stars to 4. I was originally upset over receiving my iron with water in it. However, upon further inspection of the box and its contents, I found a warning there may be water in the iron due to testing at the manufacturers. So, apparently my iron is new. I have tried it out and over all it is decent iron that does its job. It is rather large and awkward for my small hands. I ironed 4 rather large curtain panels and when finished, my hand were hurting. Maybe I’m just a wimp. There is a little leakage, but I think that’s to be expected. Overall, a good iron so far. Once again, my apologies for original review. I have just received this iron. The packaging was excellent. However, upon opening, the iron was leaking. I would like to think of myself as a somewhat intelligent person, and I believe a brand new iron should not have water in it. It seems to be “like new” rather than “brand new”. I plugged it in and it seems to work well. However, I do not like to be deceived into paying for a new iron and get a used one, no matter how “new” it looks. I sincerely hope this iron continues to work and I have not been swindled. I do not have the time and energy to be returning something that I have no fault in. ... show more

  • Great and heavy
It works great, good settings, looks good. It is heavier than I expected and I do have to hold it over the fabric a lot for the steam but I might be weak? I don't know, my arm gets tired. It does work very well though.
