It took me days of hunting, sorting through so many items, to find an ironing board that I thought might be sturdy enough to be worth these kinds of prices. I’m not saying that this one in particular is overpriced, I’m just saying that in general, the prices for ironing boards is, a shock to me, lol. The last ironing board I bought was four years ago at a family dollar, so that was what I was comparing it to. The one I used before that was one a friend had found at a thrift shop/consignment store, that was clearly a much older Version, with extremely sturdy legs. It was probably a good 20 years old, lol. I’m very glad that this is the one that ended up choosing! It has been very sturdy, not a budge when I try to move it. This was my number one concern! Also, the pad is nice and thick, and perfect for ironing, clothes, or sewing projects.(the last one had no padding and I could feel the metal mesh underneath, lol). I have a small-ish space to put the ironing board and iron in, when I set it up. I have to use a cordless iron, because with my disability issues I iron over a cord all the time, and having one in the way is not acceptable. I was worried that the little side tray for the iron would be taking up too much space, but it was not an issue. It doesn’t make the iron too long for my space, although it really is of no value to me, because it’s not a flat surface. I can’t place my existing iron on it on its charging pad. I like that there is a portion of the pad for placing a warm iron on, even though I don’t need that as much as someone who has a more standard iron. I also have a new iron so the portion of the pad to clean the iron hasn’t really been a necessity at this point. I’ve used it to iron, some very heavy curtains, and the pad made it a little difficult for me to move the curtain around, but that’s my own issues with trying to adjust the fabrics, because when it holds onto the fabric, it keeps it from sliding off the board. That would probably be much worse, lol. If I had to spend this kind of money on an ironing board, and this one happens to have been in the lower range of all of the ones I looked at, I’m very happy to purchase this particular one. We had a 20+ year old board that, while still worked, had been ‘fixed’ a few times and not the sturdiest. Wife asked about a new one and I was shocked at prices, as some other reviewers had pointed out. Read a lot of reviews and decided on this one. Very happy with purchase. Completely assembled on delivery. Lighter weight than the old but rock-solid stable. Wife commented how she liked the height adjustment so she’s not stooping to iron. She likes the shape of the end better than the pointed one she had. She wasn’t sure why but ironing was much faster and didn’t use half the water she normally did before. Not sure the purpose of the cord keeper gizmo. It doesn’t seem to be much use for her. Will probably try to remove it. Guys, just cough up the bucks and let her have it. Happy wife - happy life!!! And before somebody rants that I’m a sexist, I really don’t need to be trusted with an iron, laundry or attempting to make the bed. I do most all the cooking and cleaning of the kitchen. The lawn and outdoors are all mine. We share pretty well…😁 ... show more

    • Looks ok but has weak legs

Seems ok built but I expected better for the price. The description says solid steel legs but I do not think so. The legs were not even when the board was open and I just straightened one of them with my hands. I'll probably keep it, but it is overpriced.

The ironing board is very sturdy and I like the multiple height levels that it offers. Easy to open and close and I like the extra width (great for a quilter). The iron chord extension is a challenge to attach to the end of the board. Still a mystery, not very effective.

The media could not be loaded. Congratulations! You are looking at the most expensive ironing board on Amazon! Don't be fooled by statement like sturdiness, euro design, blah blah... the ironing board is a cheap piece of junk. the legs are thin, and the feet are very wobbly, and the structure does not equal the price. I put this on a few of my very flat floors and this thing still jumps around. I even played with the rubber feet etc, but nop, it's still total junk. Thanks for waisting my time having to wait a week for it's arrival! you can take it back. ... show more
