Chattanooga Primera TENS/NMES Unit with HAN Waveform allows you to apply TENS and NMES systems to provide a more well-rounded healing process. TENS systems involve non-invasive nerve stimulation through small electrical currents. These currents trigger your body to produce endorphins which help to control your pain. NMES systems are used to reduce muscle spasms, tone weak muscles, and assist in the healing process. They do this through emission of electrical pulses to stimulate repeated muscle contraction. The HAN TENS Waveform system uses Dense-and-Disperse modes of stimulation where 2 Hz is alternating with 15 or 70 Hz, each lasting three seconds. This method produces maximum opioid peptide dispersion, which are the endorphins that help to control your pain. This unit includes an extensive range of program options, with eight programs for TENS and six programs for NMES. The TENS and NMES have an amplitude range of 0-80 mA. This unit features a proven circuit with over 10 years of reliable performance. Battery symbol will flash on/off every second when battery falls below 6.9 volts.     • Excellent product!!
I suffered a stroke a little over 2 months ago. While in the hospital, the Occupational Therapist used a machine similar to this one on my arm and hand to try to wake the muscles back up. It seemed to work, so when I was released I wanted to continue the same kind of electrical treatment. I asked my outpatient OT what they thought and they felt it was a good idea. I asked them which machine they would recommend and she said she needed to ask around and let me know. She is part of an email group with other OTs around the country, so she sent out an email blast to all of them to see which unit they recommended, and the majority of them all said the Chattanooga Primera TENS/NMES Unit, so that is the one she told me to get (I guess you could say that this product is the recommended choice of Occupational Therapists! ). Anyway, with all of that said, I couldn't be more pleased with this product! It is VERY easy to use and it has helped me regain movement in my arm and hand greatly! The unit comes with a very nice travel bag, as well as a very helpful booklet with diagrams which shows you the proper points to place the electrodes. It even comes with electrodes already in the kit, so there is no need to purchase extra ones until you need them! Everything you need is in the box. I was using it within 15 minutes of opening the box! The other great thing about this unit is that it is TENS and NMES! This is VERY handy (be sure to look up what the difference is)! I have primarily used it for NMES purposes, but recently needed to use the TENS feature and it helped a lot!     • Used for muscle stimulation only
After breaking my tibia, I needed to improve my quad muscle tone from the atrophy of 6 months non-use. This works pretty well along with physical therapy although electrode pad placement is critical for muscle activation. The included placement diagram didn’t work well for me but I found decent response by trial and error. You’ll need to buy more pads but they’re pretty cheap and you’ll know when you need to when the unit cuts off while ramping up the charge. I haven’t used it for pain relief. This does take the edge off my shoulder joint pain. Not much residual effect once I remove it. Hi quality silicone electrodes made in Germany and stim unit made in the UK.

    • TEMS/NMES Device is exactly what I needed!
After knee replacement surgery my recovery has been a challenge. I use this NMES device and it has been a life safer in building my strenth. I love this device and use it 3 times a day! It is perfect!

    • Worked 2 Weeks Then Didn't
Only worked on intensity less than 40. Worked fine for first 2 weeks as I worked up on the intensity. As soon as I started sessions above 38, unit cut off under 2 minutes, sometimes under 30. I know the patches and lead wires were fine. Could do a 30 minute session at 38. Leave pelectrode patches in place, take 45 minute rest. Start 2nd session, graduate up to 40- 45 and init would work for a while and then cut off somewhere before 30 minutes. Bought this units for a 5 month treatment plan, 3x day, for post-stroke spasticity. The protocol that I am following, I need to work up to an intensity of 50, 3x a day with 60 minute rest between. Very unhappy that this unit is not performing as a true medical NMES for dedicated treatment. 42 sessions before failing is not good. ... show more
