  • Happy Customer review
Style: 4375/3500-Watt + Gas + Remote Start + CARB
Recently, a tree ripped the meter and all power lines out of my house and I was without power for a week. All of the box stores around me sold out of generators before dinnertime, but this one shipped to my house in two days. Assembly was super easy. I did run it for 5 hours before connecting anything to it, and then I ran it for about 5 days straight with no issues. It worked fabulously! And the remote start is an amazing feature. Yes, it's a little loud, but it's really only louder than the inverter generators (which are designed to be quieter). My Champion wasn't any louder than my neighbors' generators, so this must be the standard sound. Besides, a little generator hum is better than going without a refrigerator and lights. Speaking of time, with a full tank, I could run my refrigerator and a power strip to lights, a fan, and laptops/phones for almost 12 hours. I had to fill the generator twice a day (morning and night). It would have run more, I'm sure, but I didn't need to plug anything else in to get through the emergency so I didn't. The oil did need changed after usage, but that was an easy process, as well. I also recommend a good running cover (I found one on sale on Amazon for $116, but there are a few cheaper options here, too). It started to rain on Day 3 and, since rain can ruin the generator, I made a makeshift cover out of a folding table and tarp (keeping ends open for ventilation) until my cover arrived. Now I'm ready for the next power outage (or camping)! ... show more

  • Excellent Generator
Style: 4375/3500-Watt + Gas + Remote Start + CARB
We have another Champion Generator that is almost identical to this one (we just bought one of these, set it up today, started right up and runs like a top). We have run the old Champion well over 6,000 hours (the hour meter stopped at about 6,000 hours about a year ago). We ran that old Champion generator until the brushes wore out. Called Champion and because it was out of warranty they sent us a new set of brushes for about $10. Easy to install. We bought this new one because we live in California and it is sounding like the state will soon outlaw selling generators like this in California, and we need a generator to back up our off-grid solar system. Update 2-25-2024 The new generator had a problem, it would start and run fine, until it got too much load on it, then it would stop as if it was turned off. It was hard to contact customer support because of the storms on the east coast so they were on overload, but, after getting through they provided stellar support, including by email. The generator was under warranty, but the closest service center was many miles away, so they shipped me a new automatic voltage regulator to try that (installation was easy). That did not fix the problem, so they sent me a new carburetor and armature (entire guts of the generator). Also easy enough to install. All at no cost to me. After installing those the generator was fixed. Now, I believe the problem was that the carburetor had a partially clogged jet, so it could not supply enough fuel to power the engine when the load went up. That can happen to any carburetor. Fortunately, we still have the old Champion generator (mentioned above, still running great with probably some 7,000 hours on it) to use while I worked to fix the newer one. I cannot give enough praise for the quality of Champion generators and their excellent customer service. ... show more

  • Adequate generator but needs constant maintenance
Style: 4375/3500-Watt + Gas + Remote Start + CARB
I've owned this generator for a year now. Only use it during July, Aug, Sept. Came undamaged, assembly was fairly easy, started right up and ran it for the 5 hour break-in. I use it in the mountains and the elevation is about 3500 ft. After running for about 30 hours, it started chugging and then shut down. Close inspection found the spark arrestor screen (inside the exhaust pipe) completely plugged with soot. Removed the two bolts (AFTER COOL DOWN) and cleaned it with carb cleaner and it started right up and works for another 30 hours. Called Customer support and finally got through. They were helpful and suspected that the carb jet needed to be changed to High Altitude jet. They sent it to me for free. I've swapped it out but waiting to see if that fixes it. I did notice that every time I start it with the electric start, it floods and when it finally starts, it blows soot for a few seconds. It appears that it auto-chokes when you use the electric start regardless of the temperature but doesn't when you pull start it. They should have a way to bypass the auto choke if needed during hot weather and make the spark arrestor screen a larger mesh so it doesn't plug with soot. I'm suspecting the new jet won't solve this... but here's hoping. ... show more

  • Easy starting
Style: 4375/3500-Watt + Gas + Remote Start + CARB
Very impressed with the overall quality of this generator. Love the remote start, even starting it manually is easy. Starts right up on the second pull and the pull cord is easy to pull. My wife can start it manually without hurting her shoulder. It is quieter than any generator I have owned in the past. Packed very well in the box for shipping and was simple to assemble. It will make a great backup generator. The only complaint I have is that the fuel tank opening should be larger in diameter for better venting and easier filling. ... show more

  • Starts right up
Style: 4375/3500-Watt + Gas + Remote Start + CARB
Good quality. Arrived as advertised. Prompt delivery. Was heavy, so Amazon sent 2 drivers to deliver it. They wheeled it right around to our garage. We were going to buy one at the store, but didn’t know how we would get it home. The battery was dead, but it started right up with one pull. Great deal for the money, but it is noisy, which we expected because of how affordable it is. ... show more
