So far, I’m completely satisfied with this space heater. It’s still summer, so I haven’t been able to properly test the heater against the cold, but it seems to heat well and respond smoothly. I didn’t initially see the manual power switch on the side, and so I mistakenly thought the heater could only be controlled by remote. Gratefully, the switch on the side helps ensure the heater is truly “off”, and when it is toggled on, there is a keypad beneath the led screen that can be used to control the unit without a remote. I was pleasantly surprised at the inclusion of two remotes. Initially I thought that might be a mistake, but one of the remotes notes that they were unable to include batteries for safety reasons and included the spare remote instead. You’ll need two AAA batteries for each remote, though. One final and important note is that the heater bulb is cushioned on arrival by three black foam pieces that would be easy to overlook. I spotted them on this heater, but I’ve mistakenly left them in place with a previous heater, and they can melt, causing a mess. Be sure to remove them before you turn the heater on. ... show more

The hardware and body of this heater is made of high quality materials. It is flexible in that it can be hung (chain included) or mounted on a wall. It can be controlled via the remote control units. We have used radiant heaters in a 16 foot high ceiling, 40x60' metal pole building when we teach classes because we want to isolate the heat source where the people are, rather than heating the air in that massive space with the very high ceiling. It's important to understand that this type of heater doesn't heat the air, but rather heats surfaces, including the surface of a human. If it is mounted above a table, the table will feel warm when you touch it, your head may feel too hot, but your feet may be cold. It may take some time to figure out where to mount the heater for optimal function. However, in the right application (like outdoors, where you can't really heat the surrounding air) it's the best kind of heat, and this specific product is a good choice and I'd recommend it.. ... show more

I am very impressed with this heater. It arrived quickly and was packaged very well. The heater is very sturdy and well put together. The mounting brackets are easy to use and they came with wall fasteners too. It was so easy to mount that I was able to do it myself. So I got this for our gazebo to try to extend our outdoor season and I am thoroughly impressed. This thing is super easy to install - we literally just hung it by the chains - and I definitely appreciate the remote control. It heats up very well and keep the space nice and cozy.
