  • DO NOT BUY -- NOT WATER RESISTANT OR WATERPROOF
Size: 8 by 10 Feet Color: Olive Drab
Canvas tarp was great for dry protection, until the rain storms hit... Had this protecting my camping gear in my trailer after a successful trip. Rains hit when I got home, so I left it on the trailer and assumed it would repel the rain water as advertised. Once the rains stopped, I went outside to retrieve my items and found that EVERYTHING inside was soaking wet. Wet blankets, cots, chairs, luggage, camp stove, cookware. Everything now is soaking wet with mildew/mold damage. This canvas tarp did nothing to repel or resist the rain water. It allowed it to soak in and transfer the water to the inside. I tried contacting the seller to get a refund (or warranty replacement if anything) and got a simple reply of "it's a waterproof heavy duty canvas tarp" with no further response or effort to help me. Contacted Amazon directly and obtained a full refund on the product including taxes and shipping. They even refunded me prior to returning my product and included tracking info for the return. I now have over $800 in water/mildew damage, and hopefully my insurance will cover some to offset all of my damaged belongings. It'd be one thing if it was just a canvas tarp, but when it advertises "water resistant" and the seller states "waterproof", you have to wonder hard why the heck this happened in the first place. And no, it's not "user error". I am well versed with outdoor products, and used it as it was designed and intended. The rain storms were light at best, with no damage elsewhere. The product just did not uphold as advertised. -- My Harbor Freight tarp holds up better than this! I'm solely writing this review to help save you from headache and damages the rain water will do to this tarp. I strongly advise against buying this item, but the final choice is yours. Good luck... 😕 ... show more

  • Great Tarp for the right application, don’t use for a deck shade though.
Size: 12 by 14 Feet Color: Gold
I got this to stretch over a pergola on my deck. It’s a nicely made tarp and the color was really nice (Gold). However, it’s absolutely the wrong kind of tarp for that application and I had to return it (The seller will tell you the same thing). For one thing, the canvas can’t take the tension required to keep it from flapping in the wind (too much stress on the fabric around the grommets and it will rip). Also, I can’t state strongly enough how intense and unpleasant the smell from the waterproofing treatment is. Even after 2 weeks of being outside in the sun, rain and open air it was still amazingly strong. I’m sure after a season it would fade, and I tried to get used to it, but it’s a really powerful smell like creosote or linseed oil. Enough to ruin enjoyment of morning coffee and breakfast on the deck after 2 weeks. I’m giving it 5 stars because it would be a great tarp for the right application (covering a camper or the like) far out of smell range. ... show more

  • Heavy, treated canvas tarp with crappy grommets
Size: 12 by 20 Feet Color: White
I use this for a cover over my thinner cover for my boat that sits in the Boulder City NV sun. It takes some grunt to position it as the treatment causes it to not slide around at all, while being very heavy. This tarp keeps the boat much cleaner and rain free than just the thin boat cover alone. It seems it will last a good while, unlike the poly tarps that disintegrate within a very few months. On the downside, the grommets literally fall off this thing and so they are worthless. The solution is tarp clips ala Harbor Freight. Only time will tell if it truly holds up for a reasonable amount of time. UPDATE Sep, '18. Updating to 4 stars. This is holding up nicely and looks to outlast 6 or more of the poly tarps. The only disappointment is the grommets that literally fall off, but the tarp clips address that issue just fine. This is so heavy, I have to fold both ends toward to middle of the boat, then fold the sides to the middle so I have it a near 2' square. Then its manageable to lift up and off the boat. UPDATE Dec, '20 She is going into her 4th winter season on the boat and still holding up well. No major failure points other than the previously mentioned grommet issue. It is still very heavy, but more manageable due to the waxy coating having worn off/dissipated, so it slides easier. I would have gone through 8 poly tarps by now..no more of them for me. ... show more

  • Beware! Finished size is 10 to 11 inches shorter than ‘cut’ size.
Size: 8 by 12 Feet Color: White
Extremely disappointed with finished size of these tarps(l purchased two.). I am well aware that finished sizes of tarps are somewhat smaller than ‘cut’ sizes. Theses tarps are being used to divide a workspace. When mounted on the wall and hung with screws, the tarps are a full 10 to 11 inches shorter than the ‘cut’ sizes, even when stretched a bit. Why can’t manufacturers use cut sizes as the finished size and use more material for the ‘cut’ size. I would gladly pay the difference in cost to get something I can use without guessing. ... show more

  • Junk Item
Size: 20 by 20 Feet Color: Olive Drab
I bought this tarp and left it in the box for 60 days. When I needed it, I unpacked and installed it. The fabric is rotten or something. It tears as soon as you put it over a corner. This is something I would not only never buy again, but I would tell anyone thinking about it to not buy it as well. It is heavy, rotten and not what is represented in the original ad. I think it is OLD inventory from another source. Amazon directed me to the return site, where I printed all the labels to return it. I packaged it and sent it back for a refund. I am waiting for some kind of information. It cost me $77 to send it back. It is heavy. Now I am being told that they cannot refund it to me. This is Junk!!!!!!!!!!! I will update my review after I see what is done for me. ... show more
