My cat absolutely loves this thing. It’s cheap, a good size without being huge, and cats love it. It doesn’t last too long at our house, but that’s due to heavy scritching and use. The downside is that it does create a mess of shredded cardboard from time to time, but it’s understandable. This is our second one in the past 6 months. ... show more

We adapted 2 fully clawed cats and years ago found a declawed cat. All 3 of them love using the scratch pads. When we adapted our 3rd cat she was just about 2 and we ended up putting 5 of these around the house because she is all about stretching and scratching. The mess with them is easy to clean up, we just pick it up and brush most of the bits into the trash, then vacuum around the spot they sit. They are just cardboard so when or if the little fur balls eat one of the bits it will do them no harm and when we are done with them I just throw them into my compost pile (worms love cardboard). ... show more

So first for the plus side. My girl likes it I’ve seen her use it multiple times in the past week since I got it. The little paw prints on the size were very cute too! Now for the cons: immediately I got the box I could tell it was smaller than what I expected, but to be fair that could’ve been an oversight from my part. Now my biggest issue is the quality. I do NOT think this will last very long. In the second picture I put it next to one of her old scratchers. I’ve had it for a whole year and its only now that its practically unusable. The new one has only been lightly used. I have seen that cat go hard on scratchers but she hasn’t with this one. YET its only been a week and I do not see it lasting more than a month, and thats being generous! I got her a bigger one for the same price that isn’t as crumbly despite much heavier use. ... show more

It is funny because she still uses her 'old' one (a different kind) so I don't have the heart to toss it out/recycle it. I keep them side by side and Miracle will crouch on one while she scratches the other, then visa-versa. Since her new one came, and the 'pixie dust/Catnip?' that came with it was sprinkled, she has actually started playing with a tennis ball too! She runs back and forth between her scratcher and the ball, and then looks at me for approval. So DARN FUNNY!!! I don't know if my adopted cat had had one of these before, but she took to the first one right away, sniffing it first, then tearing at it a bit, then sitting on it. By the second day, she was scratching on it, and after that, she was lying on it. I bought this to stop her from scratching the rug which she was still doing, but less, so I bought a second one. She watched me open the package. When we got to the point where she could see what was in the package, she stood and watched impatiently, and the minute I put it down, she claimed it. Now I have one in two parts of the living room where she can see me, and she scratches them, lies down lengthwise and crosswise, and uses them as a pillow. The catnip helped in the beginning, but now she uses them because they are hers, and she whimpers when I have to move them on cleaning day. ... show more
