I scoop my cats litter every day so I’m guessing that helps with controlling the smell, but it has NEVER smelled bad. Every time I have someone over I ask if they smell the litter box and they never do. It clumps amazing it’s super easy to scoop. This litter does track, but it’s not even close to the worst. I’d rather sweep a small area every day than smell cat pee. The litter smells clean, but not super chemically. I would recommend anyone with a cat to buy this litter. ... show more

I most definitely recommend. I have had many cats & tried many different kinds of litter through the years & am now myself a lifelong customer of cats pride kitty litter, here's why; it's never over priced, never underperforms, It clumps extremely well, there's odor even if I miss a day of scooping out the litter box. I only need to change and clean the box twice a month, and never smell the litter. The box stays in my bedroom, next to my bed I might add! It comes in 10 and 15 lb jugs. One jug lasts my 13 year old fur baby 3 to 4 weeks If changed every 10 to 14 days (using a very large box. I've been using this brand of litter for nearly a year now. Cat's pride kitty litter is my first choice. It's the best choice, it's the only choice in my opinion. I made the mistake of trying a large pail of "tidy cat" because I wanted the pail & the price was too good to ignore. I never thought that it could or would be that bad, after all, "Tidy Cats" is a well known name in kitty litter.actually be terrible? Let me tell you my house smelled of cat pee. Not only was the The smell horrific, it was a huge waste of money. I had to change my cat's litter twice as much and the smell still made my eyes water & my nose burn. Lesson learned! I've been using Arm&Hammer Hardball litter for over a year; while I've been happy with the odor control and clumping, it's quite pricey. This option from Cat's Pride is formulated to inhibit bacterial growth (big reason why the litter box smells so hideous). It clumps firmly, making removing said clumps easier. This litter is as absorbent as the pricier Arm & Hammer. The container is fairly lightweight, which is a plus when you're not up to heavy lifting. I’m going back to another brand when I’m done with this. This dirt style litter was a trial thing for me and it does get rid of most of the odor, but cat urine makes this stick to the box and I have to really scrape it. The pieces don’t clump that great, break apart into smaller urine clumps, forcing me to squat down in place longer than is comfortable. It really takes work to carefully scrape the wet litter efficiently enough without accidentally spilling it over the box. I am saving money though, because the dirt particles are so small and therefore can prevent a lot of waste. But, then the dirt is hard to see and clean up from the trails my cat leaves behind. ... show more

I have one cat and live in a small apartment. I inherited him from a 2 cat household where scented litter, of a different brand, was used so I bought that when I brought him home, but I hated how it made my place smell like a litterbox so I was on the market for a good unscented litter at a fair price. This litter ticked all my boxes and my cat transitioned to it seamlessly. It clumps well, doesn't smell like litter, and when he goes potty the apartment doesn't smell like waste either. I use 1.5-2 jugs of this stuff to fill a Clevercat style litter box (a bin style box with a lid on top with a hole). My cat doesn't go inside the box to pee, just sits on top of it, but when he goes inside to poop, the litter comes off his paws on the top grippy part of the bin and this litter doesn't track outside of the bathroom (where the box is located). I replace the litter and wash the box every month. I scoop his box every time he goes potty, but if he goes while I'm not around to clean it right away, it doesn't smell up the place even though he doesn't cover his waste. After 2 weeks, it loses a bit of its scent covering capabilities, but it's advertised for 10 day odor control so that's fine. You could consider adding some baking soda if that bothers you, or add more litter to the box, which I've tried and it works. If I just add 1.5 jugs instead of 2, I top it off 2 weeks into the month. That amount gives me a 3-4 inch depth of litter. If you scoop the box daily as recommended, you won't have any issues with smell though. It still clumps great throughout the month. ... show more
