I did find it easy to put together. Seems like it will hold up to the weather. Should be put up off the ground to keep rain and snow from seeping into the bottom. If your outside cat is out in the elements and is all wet from the rain and snow then it’s going to be all wet inside when he comes into the cat house. My neighbor had that problem with her outdoor cat house. She kept it on her front porch but because the cat was wet from the rain and or snow, the house got very wet on the inside. Should change out the pad or blanket from time to time to help keep the little furry friend warm and protected. ... show more

    • Sturdy and easy to set up, not waterproof!

I purchased this for a feral cat in my neighborhood that I wanted to make more comfortable. I didn't rain here until the return window was closed and now I know this does not stay dry at all inside during rain. I had it in an out of the way area that didn't get full rain and it leaked so I moved it to under my covered porch and even when it didn't get any direct rain it was soaked inside in the morning. While it is made of what seem like good quality materials and is easy to set up and sturdy I cannot see recommending it unless you use it inside a barn or garage completely out of the weather and in that case just use a cardboard box for free. I am disappointed and I don't know if it is a design flaw or a material issue but I have no options now to return or anything as I didn't know the issue until the return time was over. Perhaps try a different cat house unless you never get rain. Update!! The company reached out to me and made things right, they suggested that they have made improvements in the product as well it sounds like the exact model is made differently now. I'm changing my 1 star to a 4 star because the company stands behind their product in my opinion. If indeed they didn't change anything the cat house is made very sturdy and will hold up over time it just wasn't waterproof and the bottom soaked up water too, but if used in a garage or similarly out of the weather the original model would be just fine. ... show more

I named the stray or feral cat that comes to my yard Moe. He or she was coming for food and water but I decided to get a shelter after a snowstorm. I added a soft cushion bed and a thermal cat mat to warm him or her. It's tucked under the steps out of the wind and rain.
