Update: 20 March 2024. Figured out the issue.... apparently I don't read instructions very well. The unit works fine when setup correctly, so this was all user error. The sound quality is great and I'm very happy with the unit. Also, Customer Service reached out to me to help, but I had figured out what I was doing wrong by then. Changing my rating to 5 stars. Purchased and received last week. I'm trying to use it with my helmet communicator head set and cannot connect audio through the Carpuride. I can start off with my phone connected to my headset enjoying my music but as soon as Android Auto connects and the GPS screen comes on, the headset disconnects and no more sound. The track being played displays on the Carpuride screen but absolutely no sound in the helmet. This is absolutely no good, I need my music! I've reached out to Carpuride customer service but have not heard back from them yet. If I can't resolve the issue I'm going to return the unit. ... show more

    • Didn't come with TF card like it was supposed to, then upgrade bricked it

Unit arrived without TF card like it was supposed to. They sent me a card, great. It wouldn't recognize the card. So they emailed me instructions to format the card and a file to put on the card to upgrade the firmware. That appears to have bricked the unit as the screen went black and now it will not power up....... So disappointing!!!! Their product support took a couple of days to respond to it being bricked and then said maybe it was a problem with the card and gave me further instructions to try again ignoring that the unit no longer powered up. Update 4-11-2024: Their customer service offered a discount to try another unit. Not sure if I should but I suspect if the unit they ship me doesn’t need a firmware upgrade and will read the card, it should work. Will update again if I do. ... show more

Works great, does everything it's designed to do. The bluetooth connection is to my new Android Motorola Edge Plus (also bought on Amazon) and secondary to my Lexin bluetooth helmet unit (also bought on Amazon) which was a snap to pair on the first try. I hard wired the unit to a switched accessory electrical plug on my bike and the unit goes on and off with the ignition. I originally used an Iphone, however I greatly prefer Android Auto and find that Google voice recognition works much better and picks up my voice much better when my full face helmet is on.. I'm fully satisfied with my purchase.. In addition, I used Carpuride customer service to obtain a custom splash screen and they were very responsive and fulfilled my request within a day... This unit seemed like a solid purchase at first glance, unfortunately I didn't get to fully install this until after the return period was up. I've had to full reset it once in an effort to eliminate power flickering issues, now I have breaks in the audio every 6-10 seconds. Restarts / reconnecting did not help, and my request for help on the Carpuride website went unanswered. Every manufacturer has an occasional quality issues, but lacking customer support along with quality issues is a bad combination. UPDATE May 2024: After some back and forth with customer service, they made it right and sent me a new unit. No issues with this one so all is well! ... show more

I wired this into a ignition switched power source which makes is very convenient. Screen is okay, if you have a tinted visor even the max brightness is a tad low. I really wish it had a ambient light sensor, it's a hassle to change brightness for nighttime riding. Sometimes loses connection to phone if let's say you leave the phone in a rear mounted top case. Placing your phone in a spot closer to the handlebar/mount geatly increases connection reliability. Touchscreen will not work with all gloces, unless you have those capacitor tipped fingers. It's responsive enough and interface clear enough. If you have multiple bikes and a comms system, don't pair your comms system to this device, leave it paired to your phone and instead change the audio passthrough settings on the Carpuride to not hijack your media audio. Overall not bad, but definitively things to improve in newer versions. ... show more
