Only time will tell on reliability, bikes in winter storage only used handful of times but my IPhone connects wirelessly by itself every time, it takes a solid 3-4 minutes but it does connect! The screen is OK. It’s not bad, not Great. Wish it was a 2k screen instead of a 720p/1080p screen. The brightness is the same. It’s very bright in the evening and just barely bright in the afternoon. Overall 3/5. The screen works even with gloves, although most gloves are touch screen capacitive so I have not tested with off brand or 100% leather gloves. Give it a 4/5 because the connectivity really does work well with IPhone, and it looks exactly like the CarPlay on my Honda car, essentially Turing my 13 year old motorcycle into a 2 year old one tech wise ha-ha ... show more

I've added this to my BMW F650GS and stepped down to the 5" from a previous 7" model. This one is specific for the BMW GPS holder that is an OEM option. I don't have one so it was nice to know that I could remove the BMW connection piece and replace it with a standard 1" ball and use the 1" mount I already have on the handlebar. I just removed a few small screws, removed a large screw that holds the back on to the unit and swapped it for the mounting ball. Easy peasy. I had already wired for the Carpuride 7" and the plug was the same so the 5" was up and running in under 15 minutes. Getting everything to talk to another took a few minutes longer than last time but my mapping showed up, my headset/intercom in the helmet was getting satellite radio and all was good. I like these units and plan to leave my phone in my jacket or in the top case when charging. 4.5/5 ... show more

I liked the ease with which the Carpuride installed on my 2023 BMW r1250gs. Literally plug and play on the OEM navigation cradle. I had trouble getting sound to my SENA headset, so sent the tech support group a message. The next day I received a message with the corrective steps listed clearly and concisely. I really like that I now see the same screen and options on my bike that I see in my other vehicles! My experience is with an Android phone, but iPhones are compatible, too. ... show more

Entire unit departed the mount halfway up the last switchback on Engineer Pass. Smashed to bits in the rocks. If all you do on your GS is ride to Starbucks, this is the one for you. I've owned both BWM automobiles and motorcycles and can say their user interfaces are consistent across both. Constantly bad. Maybe it's a German thing. The UI is eminently logical while at the same time not user friendly. This allows me to use Apple Car play and all of my apps. It's not bad, but there is a better product. This is for the basics, that is, apple car play... it is a basic screen duplication. It cannot be controlled from the original controls of the motorcycle, only with contact on the screen. Good brightness but without automatic brightness, which forces you to adjust it. As for the speed, it is normal, not so slow but it works... I recommend you check out the Chigee for BMW, close prices and definitely much better. ... show more
