Update: 20 March 2024. Figured out the issue.... apparently I don't read instructions very well. The unit works fine when setup correctly, so this was all user error. The sound quality is great and I'm very happy with the unit. Also, Customer Service reached out to me to help, but I had figured out what I was doing wrong by then. Changing my rating to 5 stars. Purchased and received last week. I'm trying to use it with my helmet communicator head set and cannot connect audio through the Carpuride. I can start off with my phone connected to my headset enjoying my music but as soon as Android Auto connects and the GPS screen comes on, the headset disconnects and no more sound. The track being played displays on the Carpuride screen but absolutely no sound in the helmet. This is absolutely no good, I need my music! I've reached out to Carpuride customer service but have not heard back from them yet. If I can't resolve the issue I'm going to return the unit. ... show more

Works great, does everything it's designed to do. The bluetooth connection is to my new Android Motorola Edge Plus (also bought on Amazon) and secondary to my Lexin bluetooth helmet unit (also bought on Amazon) which was a snap to pair on the first try. I hard wired the unit to a switched accessory electrical plug on my bike and the unit goes on and off with the ignition. I originally used an Iphone, however I greatly prefer Android Auto and find that Google voice recognition works much better and picks up my voice much better when my full face helmet is on.. I'm fully satisfied with my purchase.. In addition, I used Carpuride customer service to obtain a custom splash screen and they were very responsive and fulfilled my request within a day... Facebook posts on the dedicated Carpuride groups bear out my own experience. When the unit works properly, (which is most of the time) it's a delight, with outstanding CarPlay functionality, fast response and excellent screen brightness. There are however connectivity issues at times, (it requires Wi-Fi and Bluetooth simultaneously) and it restarts occasionally, seemingly at random. On my unit, answering incoming WhatsApp messages is particularly problematic, as the unit freezes and jumps from screen to screen, sometimes needing to be re-started to settle down. Hopefully, ongoing firmware upgrades (which drop regularly) will fix things. As far as the hardware is concerned, the unit itself is well made, but the ball mount and its release method is crude and needs to be refined. Fortunately, the aftermarket is responding fast, and multiple alternative mounts are becoming available. Power cables and connectors are typical of country of origin, thin and flimsy. By repute, the manufacturer is extremely responsive to problems, and is watching social media, so any issues reported, have been responded to quickly and effectively. Overall, at the price, I'm satisfied and would buy again. ... show more

I really like this unit once I figured out how to make it work. The instructions leave something to be desired. If you’re using an iPhone you must change the output to IPhone. My unit was defaulted to android. Connect the unit to your phone first using Bluetooth, then connect to your helmet audio. The sound quality is better than when you connect the helmet to the Carpuride unit. I chose to wire the unit in through a bus that is only hot when the key is on. The wiring supplied was not long enough to reach so I had to splice in a piece of wire. You will not need to do this if you have a USB port available or wire it directly to the battery. The screen quality is excellent and it will reconnect automatically once you have made the initial connection. It comes on automatically when I turn on the key and connects to my phone, then I connect the phone to my helmet. This method works very well. Do not turn on your helmet audio until your phone has connected to the Carpuride. It allows you to have navigation, music, and phone calls available on the bike. I have had it a few months now and love it. I would have given it 5 stars if the instructions were better. I had to search YouTube to find a video that explained how to set it up. ... show more

    • Didn't come with TF card like it was supposed to, then upgrade bricked it

Unit arrived without TF card like it was supposed to. They sent me a card, great. It wouldn't recognize the card. So they emailed me instructions to format the card and a file to put on the card to upgrade the firmware. That appears to have bricked the unit as the screen went black and now it will not power up....... So disappointing!!!! Their product support took a couple of days to respond to it being bricked and then said maybe it was a problem with the card and gave me further instructions to try again ignoring that the unit no longer powered up. Update 4-11-2024: Their customer service offered a discount to try another unit. Not sure if I should but I suspect if the unit they ship me doesn’t need a firmware upgrade and will read the card, it should work. Will update again if I do. ... show more
