Carpuride seemed to fetch positive reviews on YouTube, so I was willing to give the new, larger unit a go. And I love it! Took some time getting used to it. I had a phone attachment already installed and this popped on it, but the weight was too much - would sag during a drive. But, the better position was up top as you can see on the photos. Thankfully, my instrument panel pops off easily and I took 2 small screws to the dash and this thing is pretty solid. Ended up running wires behind panel and filed a bit of plastic to get the audio cable thru and the power easily had cord space below. I’m happy with the clean look. Also happy that it catches my iPhone in about 10 seconds. Works as should. It’s about a second lag for touching the screen and the music to change. The maps works nice. Big thing I had to do was spend about 10 minutes with the EQ. I have a stock Alpine with sub unit. If it helps anyone, I submitted a photo of the EQ that works for me - I then can boost where needed with my SUV’s bass/mid/treble. I like that this is wider than taller so I can see right over it as I drive, but more in line with my eyesight. Will probably add the backup camera down the road.     • Work great and as intended, just not on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler
I purchased this as a non-intrusive add on for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with the factory Alpine stereo system. I chose this so that I don't have to remove and replace my factory head unit, which will modify the way my built in Alpine amp, speakers and subwoofer sound, as it all works together. The device it self came packaged very well. The quality of the touch screen was surprisingly good and of HD quality. wireless carplay, as well as its wired mirror casting worked well once you adjusted some settings. "Passengers" can even enjoy streaming video on the screen while the vehicle is in motion with this particular mirror casting set up. The 2 included mounting options are of mid to submid quality as they have to be tightened down pretty hard to avoid moving, but by doing this, you get annoy creaks and cracks from the plastics used. Customer support did reach out and offer to send me a more stable metal mounting bracket. The built in mono-speaker is good for using the device as a handheld with out any other connections. Now, here is where I ran into problems with what I actually purchased it for... There are 4 audio output options available on this device... 1. built in mono speaker, 2 FM transmitter, 3. Bluetooth audio transmit, and 4. 3.5mm audio out connection. I tried with the FM transmitter, and the 3.5 mm audio cable and the audio sounded distorted. There was a overwhelming amount of electrical hum coming through both. My guess is due to the unit being connected to the 12v power plug. Customer support did reach out and offer a filter that could be placed. My intention was to connect this to my Jeeps uconnect bluetooth connection, but the device could not be paired to my Jeep. It just simply would not find my uconnect during the pairing process. So, I could not actually see if the audio quality was there for the bluetooth. I understand my Jeep is 2012, but this unit is being advertised as a carplay add on solution for vehicles without car play. I believe this device should be more open to the devices that it is capable of connecting to. Now, customer support was very helpful, and really tried to get the device to work for my 2012 Jeep. I communicated with them via email, and they sent me a software update and gave me instructions on updating the unit. The update was successful, however it did not help my connectivity issue with my Jeep. I did put this in a friends 2015 Traverse, and it connected and actually seemed to work well.     • Great new Appleplay experience for my vehicle.
Very easy to install and set up. Used the suction cup mount inverted on my lower windshield to achieve the perfect position slightly above my in dash unit to leverage the functionality of both units. Works exactly as described and noted only an occasional audio interference with certain FM stations in highly contested areas while traveling my recent 1500 miles. Some satellite audio stations drop off due to my mobile carrier signal strength however, the navigational program always stays connected. Sound quality is decent with internal speaker but, I like using the audio through my car speakers only. ... show more

Owned this for several months. It's now in the garbage, piece of JUNK! Pros: Connects Android Auto almost flawlessly, nice large screen, many options for different connection types Cons: On phone calls, other end of the conversation has an echo. Support provided multiple updates with no information on what it fixed, BUT IT NEVER GOT FIXED! This made making phone calls unusable. Screen brightness control at night does not work. Have to exit Android auto, manually adjust screen brightness Sound quality was inconsistent, at times the could be static, other times apps had super loud souind while other apps needed to be turned all the way up.     • Boots up quickly and works great
Very satisfied with this product. It boots up quickly. Once the car is turned on, and the wireless CarPlay connects shortly after boot up. The equalizer significantly improves the audio as compared to my standard Bluetooth connection. If I had to give it one fault, I was, hoping that airplay would allow videos to be played however, it only enables Audio. ... show more
