  • Loved it So Much We Purchased Another One
Style: 15.5 Miles 250W Blue
I had so much fun on this little scooter that my husband wanted one, too, and we ordered another. Now, we're the couple who rides our scooters around the neighborhood at sundown. The price point is excellent for the quality. It lives up to its description. It is rated for a top speed of 15.5, and that is accurate. Personally, I wouldn't want it to go any faster. Super steep hills will slow it down or stop it, but I used foot power at the top of the steepest one on our route, which exceeds its specs, maybe five push offs, and then it took over again. It is rated for pavement, but we took ours down dirt roads, too, and it did great. You never know what you're going to encounter, even on pavement, so it is nice to know it can easily go over the occasional rock, rut, divot, and dirt. The first one I purchased came fully charged, right out of the box. All it required was putting on the two handle grips, which takes about one second each. Unfold it, and off you go. The second one I purchased, however, was not fully charged, so I followed the instructions and charged it first. The charger has a light on the charger box, red means keep charging, and green means you're ready to unplug and go. It has a convenient kickstand, two systems for braking, one on the handlebar and one using your foot on the back wheel (my preferred way), and a safety mechanism for starting it that requires that you push off first. More thoughts: The scooter has a light on the front, for night time scooting. It also has a MPH indicator, gear changer (it has 3 which are controlled by the arrows), and a battery indicator. It is light enough to be transportable, yet heavy-duty. I love the blue matte color we chose for ours. Last night, we went for a 3.5 mile ride and we both used one bar on the battery indicator out of the 4 bars. That route has very steep hills. We're going to take it on a longer excursion around a lake this week, and through the town on the lake, which will give us a better idea of how many miles it gets on a relatively flat surface. The fun we've already had on these scooters has made them worth every penny. ... show more

  • Great E-Scooter for the price!
I recently bought a $700 E Scooter and love it so much I have been looking for an inexpensive option so my wife and kids can ride with me. TaDaaah! This Caroma E22 PRO so far has been a huge success for the price tag. PROS: -price tag. 179.00 plus 90 bucks shipped puts is well under $300. Deal! -99% assembled. Took under 3 min to unbox and be ready to ride without the need for tools. -headlights. I was worried at first, but the single LED lamp puts out more than enough light for night riding. -light weight. When it is collapsed into storage mode it is light enough for me to carry with 1 hand and the locking mechanism when it is collapsed makes getting it in and out of the car super easy. -adjustable handle bar height. There is about 7 inches of adjustment available with marks on the shaft so you can find your favorite height. -smooth ride. The E22 PRO has a single shock for the rear suspension but the ride actually seems smoother that the ride on my more expensive E Scooter with dual suspension. -cruise control. Another one of the cool options this scooter has. If you reach a speed you like and don't want to hold the throttle you push the cruise control button and you are good! A little tap on the throttle or brake and it turns off. -available colors. It may seem like a silly PRO, BUT... if you have more than one family member you are buying for, color options matter... Just saying. CONS: -Brakes. This unit has a single drum brake on the front wheel. It is not the best for sudden stops and I did have to spray out some sand when one of my kids took it into some deep sand on accident. -The Bell. My wife would have put the Bell as a PRO because it sounds "magical" but the bottom line is that a bell/horn needs to warn other riders/pedestrians, and this one lacks the volume (even though it sounds magical, lol) -power. This scooter has a max weight limit of 265lbs which is great for everyone in my family, HOWEVER, I am 6' tall and about 230lbs and I can tell that this scooter struggles with me on it. Don't get me wrong, this scooter took me up the hill in my neighborhood, and it WAS able to reach the advertised speed of 20mph on flat ground, but it definitely had a hard time. My son however is about 150lbs and he has no trouble zipping up hills or getting the scooter to 20mph. We kept this review at 5 stars because this cool scooter has more features than others that are going for a higher price, and the CONs that I listed aren't worth taking stars away from our review for the price we paid. All in all. For the price, A great light E Scooter for smaller adults. My family is loving it and I can't wait to see how many miles it gets out of a full battery charge. We look forward to buying more in the future so our family of 5 can all go out on an E-venture together. ... show more

  • worst scooter ever
Style: 15.5 Miles 250W Black
If I could give the Caroma scooter zero stars, I would. This thing is an absolute disaster. I bought it thinking I’d get a decent, reliable ride. Instead, I got a deathtrap on wheels that doesn’t even have the decency to break down safely. The scooter literally shut down in the middle of my ride—no warning, no beep, just went completely dead like it decided to take a nap halfway through the trip. I was left standing in the middle of the road, pushing this useless hunk of plastic like a broken shopping cart. But wait, it gets worse. After it powered off, it wouldn’t even turn back on. I tried everything—resetting it, charging it, pleading with it. Nope, it’s as if this scooter has a mind of its own and decided, “Yeah, I’m done.” So now I’m stuck with an overpriced paperweight. And even before that incident, the ride quality was garbage. It rattled like it was held together by duct tape, and the brakes were either too sensitive or completely ineffective. The handlebar grips are flimsy, the deck is tiny, and the wheels look like they were borrowed from a kid’s toy. I’m not even sure how this thing made it past quality control. Do they even test these? Save yourself the frustration and humiliation of pushing a dead scooter through the streets—do not waste your money on this junk. Caroma, get your act together and stop selling people this overpriced, defective trash! ... show more
