After installing it it was very good at picking up voice but a little fussy or airy not sure but cleaned up after adjusting the dust cover on mic. Really think it will work great for hands free mic in car. Think the price was very good and shipping was very fast.

Ordered this microphone came on time hooked it up and it sounded terrible. I'm using it in my pickup truck. Well hooked it up it sounded like crap it was squealing and echoing but I forgot to check to see if I had to switch it over to external mic. So guy with Amazon they went ahead and sent me a new one got it and then it hit me to check and see if I needed to switch it to external mic which I did now it sounds great so now I'm returning the other one sorry about my operator error mistake.     • Winner after testing several lavalier microphones
Let us be honest, you never know what you will get sometimes when ordering online, so I ordered several lavalier microphones to find the best one for my car's head unit. As a live sound engineer (yes, that guy behind the large front of house mixing board in the audience blocking your view at the concert), I know a bit about sound. To establish a baseline, started this test without any influence or use of an external mic. My partner called from my car while I listened using another phone. Using the built-in mic on my car’s head unit, the call quality was typical, muffled and had tunnel voice. Next, we re-ran the test by introducing each of the three lavalier mics and disabling my car's head unit mic. Several test calls were made while positioning the mic in various places inside the car to determine the best and worst sound as well as mounting location. From all the mics tested, the Weishan Car Microphone came out on top. Given this is a mono (not stereo) omnidirectional condenser microphone, feedback was minimal, audio was crisp, without much distortion or loss in voice quality. The near 10-foot cable was the longest of the three tested and like the 3.5mm jack has a 90-degree angle to help with a clean installation and protruding cables. The provided mounting clips may limit your mount location as it did mine. Most lavalier mics have the industry standard alligator clip, but mounting is limited based on how wide the clip opens. The Weishan Car Microphone has a mini-ball feature allowing for 180-degree swivel on the mounts included, one flat surface stand and two identical U-shaped clips. With a firm pull to detach the mount from the ball, you now have the flexibility of mounting where you want with limitations of course. The identical U-clips have a smooth plastic surface, unlike alligator clips, but stretch open less than a quarter inch before you get the feeling it will crack. The clip did not open wide enough to mount this on my sun visor. Luckily, I have a sunglasses case mounted to my visor and secured the U-clip to that. Would I prefer a cardioid microphone (most sensitive to sounds coming from directly in front, limits sound from the sides) versus an omnidirectional (to designed to pick up sound from all sides of the mic), yes. Would I have preferred a wide-mouth mount clip versus the smaller clip provided, sure. Overall, you cannot negate the fact the Weishan Car Microphone sound and features are priced at just under eight dollars. Would I buy it again? Yes! ... show more

    • Great mic for aftermarket car stereos
I have used these mics in a couple of my cars now and they work great. Good enough sound quality for me to be easily heard and easily be able to use Google Assistant. They also are easy to mount and have plenty of cable length to mount wherever you want them. I also appreciate the inclusion of a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack since some stereos like my Pioneer AVH4200-NEX have the smaller port. It also worked great with my Sony XAV-AX8000 which uses a regular 3.5mm jack. I highly recommend if you need a new mic for your aftermarket head unit. ... show more
